[13:40] How Bored Osaka found the regens. He traced the community back to hosting healing and meditation spaces on Clubhouse in early COVID, and to stumbling into one of Lyss's spaces that "felt so brave." His distinction landed early and echoed all hour: he doesn't believe in safe spaces — "safe spaces will keep you inside that cave" — he believes in brave ones.

[11:01] The clip that set the tone. Jed played a motivational cut — "It's not the pursuit of happiness, it's the happiness of the pursuit… you can't have an easy life and a great character" — which both hosts kept circling back to as a frame for the whole conversation.

[27:01] Reconciling his mother's passing. Asked about a real struggle, Bored Osaka told the story of his mother, dying of cancer, refusing to let him move home: "I just have cancer renting space in my body, and it's not my body." He couldn't understand it intellectually until her going-home ceremony, when it resonated spiritually — his lesson: never move anywhere, or live, for anyone but yourself.

Jed offered his own experience of addiction, and the thing his father told him that finally clicked: "If I don't love myself enough right now to do it for myself, I'm gonna do it for my kids." Bored Osaka's reply — "that is the right answer for you" — turned it into a shared reflection on meeting people where they actually are.

[32:17] Listening as a superpower. Both hosts and guest landed on listening as the through-line of the day. Bored Osaka admitted how hard it is to check his ego at a friend's door — "I don't have to respond, I get to respond" — and recommended How to Listen by Thich Nhat Hanh, which Lyss vowed to read and share.

[38:09] Why photography is art. Jed confessed he spent years not seeing photography as a real art form. Bored Osaka's answer: the camera is the paintbrush, the lens the bristles — both tools for building "a visual narrative of how you see something." He later described people as his favorite subject: capturing something in someone they'd never seen in themselves.

[48:00] Throw out the bucket. On travel and living fully: "If any of you has a bucket list, turn the bucket upside down, puncture a bunch of holes in it, and then turn it over and try to fill it." A genuine mic-drop that had Lyss riffing on her own solo trips to France and Italy.

[56:24] Quasar gives the room its flowers. Quasar came up to say he'd followed Bored Osaka into the community from his Clubhouse meditation days, called it a rare genuine room in a sea of "bad spaces," and — musician that he is — promised to listen back three or four times because "I know it's gonna give a song." He later dropped, almost in passing, that the universe has sat him beside Prince, Pharrell, and Michael Jackson.

[57:48] The apes-and-cats bit. Bored Osaka welcomed Quasar with a spiraling, deadpan riff — "Apes and cats. Apes and cats and bugs" — which cued Jed's story about his daughter's new cat that behaves like a dog, jumping on everyone. A light, warm stretch of pure regen banter.

[1:16:42] Read more, wander more. Winding down, Lyss made the case for libraries and books over college — renting a dozen books at a time as a kid, and just ordering a paper dictionary so she can rediscover words the old-fashioned way. Bored Osaka's coda: "words without context are just words."
