Quirkie Connection w/ Papii and Sho ๐ฅ
Host: Sho (@AgogoKaren) with co-host Papii (@RealPapii) ยท Fri, 11 Sep 2026 ยท 31:27 ยท 3 speakers (guest: CryptoYesNo @CryptoYesNo)
TL;DR
- A short, guest-focused Quirkie Connection: Sho's scheduled Space got eaten by X, Papii joined from the car en route to a haircut before a Portugal trip, and they skipped the music and went straight in.
- CryptoYesNo (@CryptoYesNo) gave a long, unusually candid walk through his NFT history โ early BAYC mints, heavy losses, an ApeChain collection that peaked and faded, and Shade Haven, which he says underperformed largely on his own team's execution.
- He laid out the new project, Bored Trader (BTRD): a Stonkbroker-inspired burn-and-mint model built on Robinhood Chain, run in reverse order (burn prior collection NFTs โ mint pass โ free mint, token already live).
- Mechanics in detail: 5B token supply, 500k tokens pegged per NFT, 30% in Uniswap V4, LP tokens burned, free claims allocated to BAYC and Quirkies holders, and a wallet inside each NFT with 50% of all project fees routed to holder incentives permissionlessly.
- Papii committed to burning and participating, praised the design as "not cash grabby," and both hosts asked CryptoYesNo to run dedicated explainer Spaces โ a "for dummies" version โ since most of the Quirkie community are collectors and IP people, not DeFi natives.
Highlights
[1:53] โ The Space that rugged the host. Sho opened mid-recovery after X refused to launch her pre-planned Space, apologizing while re-tagging everyone and hunting for the "boring music." Papii's diagnosis at [3:12] was that pre-planned Spaces just do that sometimes, and he noted from the audience side he could only hear her once he was promoted to co-host.
[4:01] โ Rolling without music. Papii set the tone from the road: no music because he's driving, he leaves for Portugal in under 48 hours, and someone is squeezing him in for a haircut. Straight into the action. Sho in Texas, Papii in Florida, CryptoYesNo in LA at 7 a.m. โ everyone up with the birds.
[5:37] โ Who CryptoYesNo is when he's not online. Sho's opening ask was deliberately non-NFT: tell us about you. The answer โ LA-based, real estate development for the last decade-plus, small commercial building company downtown, 20-hour days โ plus 15 years before that in the space and defense industry, which is where the spacesuit PFP comes from.
[6:59]โ[8:28] โ The losses, stated plainly. He minted BAYC early, added more, and lost a lot when the market turned. He stepped away, came back a couple of years ago, then launched a 1,000-piece collection as one of the first projects on ApeChain โ which did well until ApeChain's meme coin hype died. His own tally on other people's ApeChain projects: over $50,000, "like a ton."
[9:58]โ[12:18] โ An honest post-mortem. On Shade Haven: large collection, traits generated with AI then assembled traditionally, few supporters, and traditional NFT collectors who didn't want the AI aspect. His summary of what went wrong across all of it โ no collabs, no utility, nobody knew them, and a reliance on chain communities where, as he put it, most people were broke themselves. "Half of it is on us."
[13:48] โ The Pandora box moment. The bit that turned him around: he'd held several of Stonkbroker's founder's earlier collections, kept losing money, and refused to burn them out of sheer fatigue โ "I'm done with this guy." Then he sent his dev in to look at what Stonkbroker had actually built. The dev came back and, in CryptoYesNo's telling, it looked like a magic Pandora box had been opened.
[15:17]โ[19:28] โ Bored Trader, mechanically. He originally considered ApeChain (also Arbitrum-based) after a friendly conversation with the BAYC side, then chose Robinhood Chain because he sees more hope left in its meme coin market. The model runs Stonkbroker's sequence backwards: token first, then burn prior collection NFTs for a mint pass, then a free redeem when mint opens in two to three weeks. He spent real time explaining why the 10,000 cap is theoretical โ reaching it would require buying out the entire Uniswap side, i.e. a billion-dollar market cap โ and pegged realistic supply at 4,000โ5,000. Mint revenue to the team: effectively zero. ETH paid goes into the pool, LP tokens are burned, and the business model is fees.
[21:45]โ[23:09] โ Wallets inside NFTs, stake vs. activate. Each NFT carries a wallet; 50% of every fee the project generates flows automatically into the incentive contract across roughly ten contracts, with no manual bookkeeping. Holders can stake (reversible, smaller fees, smaller rewards) or fully activate (NFT gone, higher fees, higher yield). Rarity runs common traders, master traders, and 10 "partners" that he estimates earn around 100x a regular trader.
[24:34] โ Why he's doing it. The stated motive: most of his prior-collection community are middle or lower-middle class, many are friends, and he wants their dead collections to be worth something โ plus enough project income that he stops funding development out of his IRL business. Then, after roughly ten uninterrupted minutes of tokenomics: "Did I make anyone confused?"
[25:31]โ[28:35] โ The hosts respond. Sho went first and didn't pretend otherwise: way over her head. Papii's take was that DeFi is intricate and he's an art-and-IP guy, but that delivering all of that from memory was impressive and clearly well thought out โ execution is now the whole game. He flagged that the Quirkie community are collectors and IP lovers, not DeFi people, asked for written explainers and a simplified couple-of-steps version, said he'd be burning and participating, and thanked CryptoYesNo for allocating free claims to Quirkies. Then he pulled into the parking lot.
[28:39]โ[30:20] โ Art, and unused claims. CryptoYesNo closed on the art: 200+ traits, deliberately silly and funny to match the Bored Trader name. Unused free claims get burned with the allocation, so he may reallocate them โ 50 went to digital slop and Hanlo and were gone in five minutes. Both hosts encouraged him to schedule explainer Spaces; Sho's framing was that it's always learning in this field, and that's what the room is for.

Who said what
- Sho (@AgogoKaren) โ host. Salvaged the Space after X killed the scheduled version, and steered the opening toward the person rather than the project ("tell us about yourself outside of NFTs"). Cheerfully admitted the DeFi mechanics went over her head and asked for a plain-language follow-up Space.
- Papii (@RealPapii) โ co-host, participating from the car on his way to a pre-Portugal haircut. Asked the framing questions about philosophy and what's different this time, gave the practical feedback (execution, written explainers, simplify for a collector-heavy community), and committed to burning and participating.
- CryptoYesNo (@CryptoYesNo) โ guest, and for most of the half hour the only voice. LA real estate developer with a space-and-defense background; walked through his losses, his failed collections, and the full Bored Trader design from memory.
Worth a full listen
- [15:17]โ[23:09] โ The unbroken tokenomics run: allocation math, why 10,000 is theoretical, why the team makes nothing on mint, the burned LP, the in-NFT wallets, and stake vs. activate. Too dense to compress without losing the numbers, and the delivery is the point.
- [9:58]โ[13:48] โ The failure retrospective, from Shade Haven's AI traits to relying on chain communities with no budget, straight into the Stonkbroker realization. It's the causal spine of everything that follows.
- [25:31]โ[28:35] โ The hosts' reaction in real time: Sho's honest "over my head," Papii's read on why a collector/IP community won't instinctively rush a DeFi mechanic, and the "for dummies" ask โ useful context for anyone deciding whether to burn.
