PandaPals Lounge: Friday Edition ๐ผ (+ After Dark)
Host: Panda (@PandaPals__) ยท Recorded: Fri 29 Aug 2026 (ran into Saturday) ยท Duration: ~5h13m across two rooms ยท ~15 speakers
TL;DR
- A deliberately unpromoted Friday "lounge" that ran 5+ hours across two rooms, drifting from cop-story banter and an ice-cream debate into a genuinely useful DeFi teach-in and market read.
- Panda gave PandaPals updates: liquidity locked until 2028 (the much-memed "$10 of liquidity"), a goal to merge the two websites next week, and to ship the app in September.
- A long, practical DeFi block with Waldo, Doji, Billabong, Rocky and Joseph: launchpads (Ape Store, Flaunch, pump.fun), bonding curves, LP bin ranges, and Doji's home-token + Aave tax-loop design.
- Base talk got specific โ the B20 enterprise token standard vs Robinhood's ERC20 tokenized stocks, and Base forking off the OP stack โ with Joseph offering a contrarian Bitcoin/Cardano (UTXO) thesis.
- Billabong's read: maybe a small pump then a long grind sideways ("feels like a bear because it runs so long," but technically isn't), a wrapped-BTC LP strategy, ETF inflows crossing the 200-day, and Arthur Hayes' compute/"flop" token pitch.
- Plenty of heart and humor: Panda hosting mid-gym-spot-set until his phone died, Carrie's smoky-bacon-donut ice cream, Five bonding over Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Curtis's Suno love song for his wife (plus a Suno ode to beans).
Highlights
[P1 10:07] Joseph opens the trapdoor. Barely ten minutes in, Joseph relays that the world's oldest and youngest kings died the same day, ties it to a "looking-glass" prophecy about "the time for clearing," and rolls into technocrats, open-source China models and Age-of-Ultron dualities. It's the room's mission statement: casual and unstructured, then suddenly very deep.
[P1 25:51] Cop-story hour. Panda's clean-driving-record-yet-somehow-always-getting-pulled-over saga (yellow lights, high beams, a U-turning cop) turns into a bit when Lil Southern Mama asks whether he's "unbuttoning your shirt and batting your eyes at the officers." Panda's defense โ just be cordial and don't bother lying to them โ barely survives the teasing.
[P1 29:49] Carrie's drunken lady-cop birthday saga. The biggest laugh of Part 1: a friend backs into a car and drives off, "drunk chicks" from a neighboring garage party rat him out, Carrie hands over the wrong phone number by accident, and a "lady cop with a boom box" ends up at his door. Lil Southern's deadpan "Are you sure that wasn't a movie you watched?" only makes it worse.
[P1 37:40] "Betting on yourself" since 2017. Panda gets sincere about why he's still here โ it started monetary, became transcendent once he began orchestrating an ecosystem โ and lands on his recurring gospel: everyone should bet on themselves at least once, and "water the bamboo" a little every day.
[P1 47:16] The wellness turn. Joseph reframes bad workdays through neurodivergence and sensory overwhelm (sometimes the move is a nap, a hike, or literally touching grass), and Carrie opens up about nasal-breathing exercises and painting to manage anxiety โ a warm, unguarded stretch the room leaned into.
[P1 1:00:57] "History of the internet" vs the live gym spot. Carrie narrates a mock origin of the internet (complete with Terry Davis jokes and a 56k-modem impression) while Panda, on mute, is actually spotting a 250-lb gym buddy grinding out 140s. Panda keeps cutting back in out of breath โ "that was a workout for me too."
[P2 0:39] Why the first room died. Restarting as "After Dark," Panda explains the previous room didn't rug โ his two-year-old phone hit 10% battery mid-spot-set โ though he prefers to blame Carrie's bacon-donut ice cream comment as the true mic-drop. Carrie cheerfully accepts the blame.
[P2 8:03] The DeFi teach-in. The night's most substantive turn. Waldo walks through launchpad graduation and bonding curves (Ape Store, Flaunch, pump.fun) and the "bouncy ball" pattern of post-launch dumps; Doji explains pairing a new token to home with an Aave tax-loop that funnels locked emissions into buy-and-burns; and Billabong offers the clearest mental model of the night โ an LP as "two buckets of water," where you rebalance as one overflows into the other.
[P2 1:21:18] Billa's "newborn" projects. Billabong articulates why he adopts a few projects (pandas, Rocky's, PandaPals) as his own "newborn," and Panda expands it into cult-vs-movement: no-effort coins draw mercenaries, while a real movement takes years of diamond hands โ so just keep watering the bamboo, and "shitty days are when you don't quit."
[P2 2:26:24] Curtis's Suno love song. Curtis plays the AI song his wife declared "our song" after he moved the family across four states, then admits he "made it on Suno and cheated. But she still loves me." The wholesome peak immediately gives way to a Suno ode titled, roughly, "I love beans."

Who said what
- Panda (@PandaPals__) โ host; ran the room, delivered the PandaPals updates (LP lock, site merge, September app), and the recurring "water the bamboo / bet on yourself / don't quit" pep talks.
- keRRy / Carrie (@kerrymcook) โ cohost and the comic-and-heart engine of the room (cop stories, bacon-donut ice cream, "reach out to each other"); an artist who shared his own mental-health tools.
- Joseph (@TrudoJo) โ resident deep-diver; looking-glass tangents, neurodivergence and coping, and a contrarian Bitcoin/Cardano (UTXO) thesis skeptical of Ethereum's layer designs.
- Lil Southern Mama (@Lilsassmouth) โ deadpan heckler-in-chief; the cop-flirting and "was that a movie?" jabs.
- WAGBi (@WAGBi_) โ shared his account-growth grind (nearing 1K organic) and the day's spaces; team pancakes.
- Brandon (@notbrvnd0n) โ building an NFT collection and lore; Terry Davis Sora clips; "almost a year in the trenches."
- Waldo (@waldoforrealz) โ launchpad veteran; the Ape Store/Flaunch/pump.fun walkthrough, bonding curves, and his for-reels token.
- BillabongMonkey (@BillabongM) โ market analyst and Halloween-season builder; LP mechanics, fibs/RSI, wrapped-BTC strategy, ETF-inflow read, and the "protect projects like a newborn" philosophy.
- doji.base.eth (@TheDojiETH) โ Base DeFi guide; home-token + Aave tax-loop design, B20 vs ERC20, and worries about Base's "enterprise" polish crowding out meme culture. Quietly stayed in the room to the very end.
- Rocky โ music-industry-turned-degen; volatile-asset LP pairing (moth/lamp) and Chili Peppers deep cuts.
- Five (Adrian) โ long-lost NFT rep; Chili Peppers superfan, El Paso music roots, and a "you're allowed to sell your bags" NFT take.
- Curtis (BeeCuzFuture, @BeeCuzFuture)* โ veteran and Jaguars fan; the room's Suno "king," who played his wife's song and the beans anthem.
- Brief appearances: Strong (busy-week check-in) and Peanut (sports-space host, in and out).
Worth a full listen
- [P2 8:03]โ[P2 45:00] โ the DeFi teach-in. Launchpads โ bonding curves โ LP bins and fees โ Doji's home/Aave loop, with Billa's "two buckets of water" analogy. Dense but genuinely educational; the summary can't carry the mechanics.
- [P2 2:57:57]โ[P2 3:52:40] โ Billabong's market breakdown (fibs across the whole cycle, monthly RSI, wrapped-BTC LP strategy, ETF inflows, the Arthur Hayes "flop"/compute token) braided with Panda's late-night honesty about rugs, flaky devs and why he chose to build his own thing.
- [P1 1:00:57]โ[P1 1:06:39] โ the "history of the internet"/Terry Davis riff layered over Panda live-spotting a gym buddy on the 140s. Pure timing you have to hear.
