Why Do You Collect NFTs? Tell Sho

TL;DR

Highlights

[7:14] Setting the table. After a long musical cold open, Super framed the topic — "we're gonna tell Sho why we collect NFTs" — and Sho explained it grew out of a packed earlier Space where not everyone got to speak. Art Basel Miami plans and NFT NYC afterglow filled the early catch-up.

[18:59] Molly on making, not just collecting. Asked why she draws NFTs instead of collecting them, Molly (@SanaeMolly) said simply: "people love them." She's made art her whole life; NFTs are a different way to share it, with a community and social layer she genuinely loves — the Quirk kids, the Unvault bugs, and more.

[36:08] Super on the "feeling." Super gave the emotional core of the night: collecting, for him, is chasing a wave of belief in a founder or character you can see yourself in. "It's a movement that I want to be a part of. I want to experience, I want to witness, and I want to like play a role in taking this to where it's going."

[41:49] From holder to team member. DaFameless recounted naming himself "VP of Fuggery and onboarding" until Yot DMed him to join formally — "I'm gonna finally get paid in Web3... it's gonna be an unpaid intern job" — and how his Fugs stack ballooned past 70 chasing traits. May June [45:09] followed with falling for a one-of-one Fugger and building Fuggettes into a team role.

[58:37] The mints heard round the steakhouse. The night's biggest laugh: Tim insisted Sho handed him a bulk pile of mints in the spotlight of Stefanos — his read, a subliminal note about his breath. Sho clarified they were sugar-free Buc-ee's mints she'd laid out for the whole table, meaning "it wasn't just Tim that got told he had bad breath, it was everybody else in the restaurant too."

[1:13:15] Super on being a founder. Prompted by Tim, Super described leadership as being "a real sponge," problem-solving on instinct, and above all "doing right by the people that care about you." He said the role has shown him exactly who he is and which parts of himself to embrace or shed.

[1:29:49] Maha's lucky sneakers and IRL magic. Maha (@Maaaaahhhaaaaa) explained he pulled a card and walked away with the Bored Ape camo sneakers on his way out of NYC. He and Tim [1:34:21] traded warm stories about clicking with people in person before even realizing who they were online — and both showered Super with praise as one of the trip's best meets.

[1:41:45] Mike Campbell's road in. Mike (@mikecampbelltv) shared a long, honest arc: discovering Bored Apes in Feb '22 during a divorce, buying art he loved from a woman-run project (Year of the Woman), learning to follow the right people — and learning "it's okay for me to sell things, and it's okay for me to leave environments that aren't giving me something."

[2:19:38] Papii on why he collects. Papii (@RealPapii) said he came to NFTs after losing about a million dollars in a coin — "I hate coins" — fell for Bored Apes and then Quirkies, and stayed for the people and the platform for impact. "Nothing hits quite like Quirky's hit after five almost five years."

[2:30:32] Mac takes the floor. Mac (@maccurated) opened with a deadpan shot at Burningbush's real-life PFP — "You have no credibility because you've got a real life PFP. Please leave" — then delivered the fullest case of the night: NFTs as an extension of skate-park culture, the Wackyville origin story with artist Yu-Yo, and a closing plea to block toxicity and protect your energy.
