NFTs β The Sunday NFT Show
Host: LoKi π (@lokithebird), with co-hosts Makaveli (@MakaveliDlaCruz) and proof (@the_alpha_dgn) Β· Sun, 19 Jul 2026 Β· 1:52:45 Β· ~12 active speakers
TL;DR
- Cab (Claynosaurz) walked through the collection landing on Amazon Prime Video β three short episodes now, longer-form content in the pipeline, with Amazon sharing viewership stats back to the team.
- Adam Weitsman joined the show fresh off being named to the Yuga Labs board of directors (his first week), and teased that Otherside "could really blow people away soon."
- A recurring theme: bridging physical and digital collectibles. Adam floated a founders'-fest exhibit piggybacking on Fanatics Fest; the room rallied around reframing NFT NYC as a "Digicon" for collectors.
- Steve Starobinsky, head of partnerships at Pudgy Penguins, gave a retail masterclass β Polly & Pengu impulse plushies hit Target that day, plus the Kaka Wow / Suplay entertainment-card deal for Asia (including a Luca one-of-one).
- A substantive debate on projects buying their own floors β Papii and Cab urged caution about "falsifying demand" and draining treasuries.
- Community was the emotional through-line: Chesus, Big Rugg, and Shills all argued the friendships and IRL meetups matter more than floor price.
Highlights
[14:31] Loki's week in review. Loki rattled off the week's news: Claynosaurz on Amazon Prime, Final Bosu launching its memo platform, Pudgy's Kaka Wow partnership, Adam joining Yuga's board, D Gods launching a marketplace ("DBay"), and Chimpers beginning to bid its own floor as market-making β "first time ever, at least publicly."
[18:37] Cab on the Amazon moment. Cab gave a heartfelt read on Claynosaurz streaming on Prime β "it's what we wanted four years ago." He pushed back gently on the "it's only three short episodes" crowd, framing it as a statement that a good Web3 product can walk through legacy doors. He admitted he only truly felt it when he saw it live on the platform: "oh fuck, I couldn't have imagined."
[26:15] Adam Weitsman on the Yuga board. In his first week on the job, Adam kept it grounded β "I don't really hype anything up" β but said a lot of past decisions will be changed and that with Figgy leading, Otherside "could really blow people away soon."
[28:38] Adam on the Normies collab spree. Adam described curating burn-to-art collabs for Normies β ACK first, then Beeple, Jack, and Larva Labs β and noted the flywheel has flipped: artists are now reaching out to him directly instead of him cold-calling.
[30:38] The "Digicon" idea takes shape. Off Adam's Fanatics Fest visit, he and Mac sketched a founders'-fest where every major collection sets up a fan-friendly booth β Bored Ape's clubhouse, Doodles' Doodleverse, Claynotopia, the Azuki garden β piggybacking the same day as Fanatics Fest in New York. Adam offered to build it for next year and pull the majors in.
[38:39] Cab on killing the NFT stigma. Cab argued the events skew too "already-in-the-know" and should be framed on the collector side. His line landed: normies "cannot get past the word" NFT, but "no consumer on the planet gives a shit what's running under the hood for YouTube β they just care that the videos play." YouTube frames itself as a media company, not a tech company; NFTs should do the same.
[44:01] Chesus on why community beats floor price. Chesus told the story of his 13-year-old daughter ripping open a FWOG pack and pulling a gold on the very first box β "she started freaking out." He widened it into a case that the friends, the tears on the phone, the meetups are the point, not the money. His deadpan tribute to a Wells Fargo exec friend he'd never have met otherwise drew the biggest laugh of the day.
[57:41] Should projects buy their own floors? Loki asked whether floor-support bidding (Chimpers, GVC) is a viable strategy. Papii detailed how real bids get front-run by collection-bidding bots and how his team built one that bids trait backgrounds instead β but warned about sustainability. Cab was firmly in the "era of caution" camp: pegging a non-fungible collection to its lowest denominator is "absurd," and buying your own floor risks "falsifying demand" and burning treasury you need to actually build the brand. A tangent surfaced the old Ape "Damn DAO" wallet still holding a hundred-plus grail apes.
[1:11:50] Steve Starobinsky's Pudgy retail masterclass. Pudgy's head of partnerships introduced himself and dropped alpha: Polly & Pengu impulse plushies launching at Target that day at $10.99. He explained the Valentine's pop-up that revealed Pudgy had become a "couples brand," the shift in retail merchandising toward faster 30β60 day drops, and the Kaka Wow / Suplay deal that lets Pudgy condense years of Asia market entry β anchored by a signed Luca one-of-one card.
