COYOTES AND CROWS

Host: Uncle Corvus (@unclecorvus) · Tue 08 Sep 2026 · ~1:01 · ~5 speakers

TL;DR

Highlights

[2:06] A tender open. Margie* shared that she was feeling steadier after the sudden passing of a cousin, a bad asthmatic found too late, and the family's habit of delivering hard news badly. Uncle held space for it and gently reframed the silence as guilt rather than coldness before steering the room back to lighter ground.

[9:38] Why the book exists. Joe Boo explained that Coyotes and Crows poured out of him because he kept giving the same counsel to different people — about living with agency and not "letting people fuck you out" of your own life — until the framework was basically already written in his head.

[16:10] The good-women appreciation post that went sideways. Uncle got rolling on how grateful he is to be around "proper women" and no bullshit, by way of a wildly unflattering survey of social-media types. Joe Boo's deadpan "Where's the second guy?" was the button on it.

[17:26] The OpenSea tiny reveal. In "full autism mode," Joe Boo laid out his plan to wrap the Bitcoin ordinals into ETH twins on OpenSea — the ordinal sits in a vault, the buyer gets a key, and unwrapping burns the twin and shoots the real thing home "like going back to Tiny World." "Can't spill all the juice," he added, "a little splash, a little shot here." [23:32]

[20:00] Lars lands mid-flow. The founder pulled up just as Uncle was sending Tiny Vikings to Margie, Ryan and Mari, sparking a running bit about Mari's imaginary free-flight-and-open-bar giveaway, complete with a mini-bar cart down the aisle.

[30:00] Margie takes the mic. Told to grab it, Margie promptly corrected the host: you can't say "open bar" around Latinas, it'll cost a pretty penny — then praised the golden, "magical" cover of Joe Boo's book, which reminded her of first opening a Harry Potter.

[35:47] Where "Corvus" comes from. Uncle gave the room the origin: Corvus is Latin for black crow, the crew comes "in a murder," and his black-feather logo was born on a bush walk when a crow shook its tail and dropped a feather right at his feet — still in the garage today. [37:15]

[38:12] Sharknado watch. A Hawaii tornado warning sent Joe Boo straight to "predictive programming, man — Sharknado's gonna be real," which spun into a Hopi crow/kachina tangent.

[40:03] Chancla lore and the babysitter incident. The room traded discipline stories: Margie's rule that whatever's in a Latina's hand becomes a projectile, Joe Boo's dad frisbeeing National Geographics across the room, and Uncle's saga of locking a hands-on babysitter in the laundry until his mother came home to deliver "the biggest backhander I've ever seen." [42:43]

[55:01] The tiniest goodbye, then the song. Joe Boo signed off with a goodbye so brief and understated the room adored it, before playing the space out with his own track — a "never too late to be misunderstood" refrain that carried past the hour mark.
