PANDAPALS ROUNDTABLE β AFTER DARK: CRITICAL ALPHA
Host: Panda (@PandaPump_) Β· Mon, 03 Aug 2026 Β· ~8h18m across four crash-and-restart parts Β· ~20 speakers
TL;DR
- X threw a bug all day where listeners couldn't hear the host unless they were a speaker, so the room rugged three or four times. Panda ran the whole thing off an alt account "with scotch tape and bubblegum" and still went to the gym mid-show.
- The meaty first half: Thionne walked through Rootcrack, his cluster of AI agents (a CEO agent, engineers who review each other's code, a marketing team) that autonomously built a free wallet-drainer scanner and argues over pricing like coworkers.
- A long cultural block on the analog comeback (Sony killing disc drives, 350k-signature backlash, CDs/vinyl/MySpace/flip phones returning) and platforms cracking down on AI slop (YouTube, LinkedIn's "seems like AI slop" button, Spotify's human-verified badge).
- A genuine debate on AI vs human music β auto-tune, live performance, reverence for craft β with the sound engineers in the room doing the heavy lifting.
- Part 4 became a two-hour comedy game: $15,000/month forever, but pick one permanent curse β slow internet, a daily slap from a stranger, or a barking dog. It escalated into giraffe throat-kicks, five dwarves in a trench coat, helium voices, and randomly assigned accents.
Highlights
[P3 0:05] The scotch-tape reboot. After ~30 minutes of dead air, Panda finally gets audible on the alt account: "This is the cheapest workaround I could think of. This is horrible⦠I'm gonna need solid co-hosts today because this thing is gonna be prone to rug." Curtis Gore agrees to co-host, promptly discovers he'd been muted the whole time, and the show limps to life.
[P3 35:05] Watering the bamboo, off the CT map. Waldo describes his week: cross-pollinating meme communities, festival groups and stoner pages on Facebook, then dragging that energy back to X to escape the crypto-Twitter echo chamber. Panda frames it as building new neural pathways β "like taking a different route to work."
[P3 58:23 β 1:37:44] Thionne's Rootcrack agent swarm. The standout segment. Thionne explains he's the human "CEO," but the operational CEO is an agent (Rootcrack) managing a whole staff: explorer, writer (Mimo), marketer, engineers who file tickets and review each other's code. He recounts them independently discovering a free X MCP, then building β unprompted β a wallet-drainer scanner offered free as a marketing funnel. Panda uses it to introduce the idea of agentic clusters as the future of work [P3 1:19:19].
[P3 1:40:27] The analog counter-revolution. Panda runs a block of stories β Sony refusing to reinstate PlayStation disc drives despite 350k signatures, 550 purchased movie titles vanishing on licenses expiring, Gen Z buying CDs, vinyl, wristwatches, MySpace and flip phones back. Kerry admits he tried to swipe down on a paper magazine [P3 1:50:20]; Curtis lands "we're literally a tax farm."
[P3 2:18:03] Is AI music "real" music? The best serious stretch. Curtis argues the line is already blurry (synthesizers, auto-tune, drum machines), Billabong points to Trent Reznor and vocaloid culture, and RΓΆcky pivots to live performance and reverence: with everyone able to "microwave a meal," who reveres the chef? Panda's tension β honoring "team human" without slapping a scarlet letter on creators β carries the whole hour.
[P3 3:59:28] Why Elon bought Twitter. Waldo delivers his data-collection thesis β the platform is a town hall of every human thought being fed straight into Grok instead of sold third-party, all roads leading (eventually) to Neuralink and a hive mind. Panda extends it to Google's data moat and the compute bottleneck squeezing Anthropic.
[P3 4:16:01 β 4:27] Streaks should be illegal. Sparked by a gaming article on battle passes and daily-login loops, the room turns to dating apps embedding streaks β Panda's post-snack rant that gamifying dating is "sorcery," breaking human connection and never letting you actually meet someone. Curtis calls it: "It's a post-bite panda rant right there."
[P3 4:59:48 β P4 end] The $15,000 curse game. Pure chaos and the biggest laughs of the night. Slow internet vs. daily stranger-slap vs. all-night barking dog. Lil Southern Mama takes the slap without hesitation; Wagbi becomes the "slow-internet maxi"; the dog gets debated as possibly rabid and inside your house. In Part 4 it mutates: the slapper marries your sister and you're cropped out of the family photo [P4 53:52], five professional-wrestler dwarves arrive stacked in a single trench coat [P4 1:56:15], and everyone deploys helium voices [P4 1:48:44].
[P4 2:27:02] The sincere landing. Panda closes by zooming out: they've survived a long bear by showing up out of something better than duty, refining the show weekly, meeting with Dan on the app, and finding entertainment value beyond price charts β "we're doing all this in the bear; what happens in a bull?"

Who said what
- Panda (@PandaPump_) β Host and MC-in-chief; kept the room alive through four crashes, drove every topic, and volunteered himself as the slow-internet victim ("that's why we keep rugging").
- Curtis Gore (@curtisgore) β 26-year window-tint veteran; the room's steady voice on authenticity, ownership, and "the easy button," and the lone committed slow-internet maxi.
- Waldo (@waldoforrealz) β Festival/meme community builder and the show's chaos engine; the data-collection thesis and half the comedy are his.
- Thionne (@Thionne_WTZ) β Walked the room through Rootcrack, his autonomous agent company, in genuine technical depth.
- RΓΆcky (@Rockchilld3) β Sound engineer; anchored the music debate on live performance and reverence for craft.
- BillabongMonkey (@BillabongM) β Culinary/gaming perspective; played curious devil's advocate on AI and dropped the 2008-broadband stats.
- keRRy (@kerrymcook) β Canadian vinyl purist; swiped a paper magazine and mourned the death of turntables.
- Lil Southern Mama (@Lilsassmouth) β High pain tolerance, zero embarrassment; would gladly take the daily slap forever.
- WAGBi (@WAGBi_) β Agent/back-testing builder; became the meme "slow-internet maxi, touch grass" holdout.
- Kilo S (@KiloSilo47) β Brought the actuarial energy: dice rolls, slap percentages, $180k-a-year math.
- Brandon (@notbrvnd0n) β Wanted the stone-cold-stunner upgrade; realized late that physical media on 15k/month "actually isn't that bad."
- A-VOID (@AVOID_TheArtist) β Musically inclined (knew the 303); shared the cautionary tale of caving on his 13-year-old's TikTok and the nuclear meltdown that followed.
- Stronghold (@StrongOnchain) β Returned after losing years of account history, rebuilding from scratch.
Worth a full listen
- [P3 58:23]β[P3 1:37:44] β Thionne on Rootcrack. The recap can't capture the texture of agents filing tickets, flagging each other's code, and being told to "put your money where your mouth is." The best substance in the room.
- [P3 2:18:03]β[P3 2:30] β The AI music debate. Curtis, Billabong and RΓΆcky genuinely wrestle with where craft ends and the machine begins β Sound City, XXXTentacion, auto-tune, and reverence β without landing anywhere tidy.
- [P3 4:59:48]β[P4 2:31] β The whole $15k game. Transcript can't do the escalation justice: dog-in-the-house rabies logic, the slapper who marries into your family, five dwarves in a trench coat, and Panda closing his laptop half-expecting the space to rug.
