NFTs — the Sunday NFT Show

Host: Makaveli (@MakaveliDlaCruz)* with co-hosts LoKi (@lokithebird)* and proofOfalphadgn (@the_alpha_dgn)* · Sun, 16 Aug 2026 · ~1h36m · 16 speakers

TL;DR

Highlights

[10:38] Does a Mancer's floor really track its token? AKYLLES, Makaveli and Loki dug into the stonk-brokers mechanic — each Mancer being worth a fixed chunk of tokens. AKYLLES argued that if nobody's actually swapping NFT for token, the two markets can drift; Loki and Makaveli countered that arbitrage keeps them glued together barring an internet outage. AKYLLES also made the softer point that "floor price" is a fragile concept when a few Sunday listings can drop it 40%.

[15:22] Pour one out for Persona. Loki reported that the Persona team has gone quiet across Discord, Telegram and DMs for months, with a rumor they're trying to sell — a sad turn for a brand he genuinely respected. Warren cheerfully admitted he'd never heard of it.

[18:00] "Another one bites the dust." Warren welcomed the newly-departed to Web3 with a hummed Queen bit, then explained that he and Warner had met IRL a few weeks earlier and effectively fused into one unstoppable bidding entity — "just war" — and warned the room not to bid against them.

[21:00] Tools, not toys. proofOfalphadgn drew the line between a meta (born of volume, gone when the volume leaves) and infrastructure you can build on. Aaron Haber backed it up: he, Ernest and Simple Farmer are thinking in five-to-ten-year terms, starting with the people already here before any talk of onboarding the masses — "I also have PTSD from the last five years."

[40:40] The 51% stat. M.R pointed to data (via Cap) that more than half of Robin Hood traders are profitable — a number the space hasn't seen since 2022 — as evidence something real is happening. Loki's deadpan follow-up: he's in the 49%.

[46:22] Cap's plea to legacy brands. Captain Zwingli delivered the room's centerpiece: he doesn't want airdrops or chain migrations from legacy projects, he wants experimentation and things to do — poker nights, allow-lists, six-five-five-ones (ERC-6551), the stuff that made 2021 fun. He stressed repeatedly it wasn't a shot at anyone: "it's an and, not an either-or." Jed and Shields immediately co-signed, reframing the whole space as "permissionless social clubs."

[1:05:28] Papii's neighbor. Papii recounted taking over his project a year ago with literally zero in the treasury, then landed the story of the day: his 75-year-old neighbor spotting the ape on his phone case and delivering a flat "NFT — no f***ing thanks." His broader point: projects are decoupling from each other and from the majors, and complacency (not the tech) is the real problem.

[1:14:21] Unvault, royalties, and touching grass. Aaron Haber walked through Divot — a compliant, opt-in royalty/marketing mechanism that lets any collection pay holders legally — and teased a run of partnership announcements. Asked whether one of those was sponsoring this show, he noted the offer was made months ago and that Loki "doesn't take human monies," before signing off to go hang with his kids.

[1:20:31] Abundance over PvP. Warner made an impassioned case against the space eating itself: "a win for one project in the space is a win for everybody." He praised Azuki's trading-card events, Doodles' toys, and people like Weizmann who show up despite not needing to.

[1:24:00] Unrealized gains and a 20-year meta. UnrealApe (collecting since 2013) reframed the moment as the beginning of something slow and sustainable — "slowly then all at once… have fun now, get paid later." Chazzgold followed with the most personal note of the day, tying his one-handed art and relearning Python to recovering from a traumatic brain injury, while building NFTs as individual AI agents (ERC-8004). Berlin closed the theme by noting Bitcoin and ETH are down ~46% and ~57% on the year, yet the energy is palpable.
