Re:Building Together EP 280 β Collectors Anonymous
Host: CEELOS (@CEELOSFIGG) with co-host Baked (@Bakedmetax) Β· Sun Aug 2, 2026 Β· 1:07:54 Β· 5 core speakers
TL;DR
- A loose Sunday hangout of the Collectors Anonymous crew β less agenda, more couch talk about what everyone's been collecting and grinding.
- The running thread: Mine Boys β Pit Boys mining "derp," how the bridge-to-Robinhood mechanic works, and floor prices. Baked plays resident expert.
- Real-life collecting confessions: Target's new card/collectible aisle, VeeFriends packs, Pokemon boxes, and GameStop's scalper pricing.
- Long, warm tangents on skateboarding after a knee injury, WWE SummerSlam nostalgia, and childhood belt-and-vacuum-cord discipline.
- Housekeeping at the end: tomorrow's project spotlight is Regen (their home project), rest of the week's schedule still on the whiteboard.
Highlights
[6:13] The real open. After an intro song, CEELOS comes on "out of the lace" with kids screaming in the background, admitting he forced himself out of bed 30 minutes earlier after a long night at the laundromat β now the Saturday-night ritual is "should we hit the laundromat so we don't have to do it on Sunday."
[9:06] Val's PFP commission. ValerieKates asks CEELOS to remake her profile pic ("purple teddy bear hoodie, art glasses, pink lipstick, no red"), and he closes the deal with "easy peasy lemon squeezy" before spiraling into how rarely a grown man says the word "lipstick."
[10:32] The haunted laptop. CEELOS explains the duct tape now over his webcam: mid-mining, two gummies deep, his laptop kept saying "derp" and he became convinced someone had logged into his camera. Baked confirms it's just the Pit Boy site's block-hit chime and walks through how mining now feeds "shares of other stocks" like a random drop pool.
[12:06] Mine Boys, Pit Boys, explained. Solo finally asks how you even get a Pit Boy. CEELOS traces the lineage β Mine Boys minted from a little game, bridged to Robinhood, "jump those fools in and they become Pit Boys." Baked drops the numbers: Mine Boys $204 floor, Pit Boys $224, so bridging still pencils out. CEELOS's takeaway: "Bet on builders, guys."
[14:52] Target is a trap. A whole confession about the new collectibles aisle: VeeFriends packs he unboxed on Friday's Space, an Adventure Time Finn figure for his daughter, a One Piece toy bought on a back-to-school run β "I went to Target to buy cotton swabs, I came out with a box of VeeFriends cards."
[17:46] Beard, hat, and the hat-snatching code. CEELOS declares he's shaving down to a handlebar mustache, then lays out the unspoken law of the bald-and-hatted man: "Don't you ever snatch your dad's hat out in public." Solo spends the next several minutes trying to poll whether toomazing would get mad about the same treatment.
[23:47] SummerSlam and the death of childhood. A wrestling roll call β CM Punk over Cody, Lesnar putting someone over, five old-timers barely walking backstage β builds to CEELOS's verdict for Solo: "Your childhood's over. Lesnar is gone. John Cena retired. Randy Orton's next." Followed by a firm "don't finish that line, bro" when the Hulk Hogan tribute threatens to go sideways.
[32:08] The hat referendum. Solo calls a live thumbs-up/thumbs-down vote on whether he can yank toomazing's hat off. toomazing texts back "depending if there's a baddie around," then comes on mic at [33:23] to settle it himself: hat on, hat off, he's chilling β the man rocks the widow's peak with full confidence.
[42:00] Belt-and-vacuum-cord oral history. The warmest tangent of the day: whooping stories, wet leather belts, the ridged vacuum cord you could feel the lines of, and a macho stepdad whacking his own leg to prove it didn't hurt β "Am I crying? So why are you crying? Toughen up." Everyone agrees today's wireless-controller kids will never know the fear of "hearing the wire in the air before it connects."

Who said what
- CEELOS (@CEELOSFIGG) β host and engine of the room; ran the collecting confessions, wrestling nostalgia, skate stories, and the closing schedule.
- Baked (@Bakedmetax) (* β co-host and the technical anchor on all things Pit Boy/Mine Boy mining, floor prices, and the "derp" chime.
- Solo dolo (@solodolo) (* β the room's chief instigator; hat-snatching polls, OpenSea floor roasts, and deadpan outro sabotage.
- toomazingTM (@TooMazing265) (* β the unbothered one; settled the hat debate with pure widow's-peak confidence and flagged the Robinhood Migos floor.
- ValerieKates (@valeriekates_) (* β dropped in from family time to commission a PFP and nudge the ape-coin-to-hold idea.
Worth a full listen
- [10:32]β[14:20] β The clearest walkthrough of the Mine Boy β Pit Boy β mining loop, wrapped in the "is my laptop possessed" bit. If you missed why anyone's buying these, this is the segment.
- [23:47]β[30:00] β WWE nostalgia flowing straight into CEELOS's story of skating for the first time since a knee injury β the ritual of "saying hi to the park," the fear before the Ollie, and the smile while lying on the ground. Genuinely lovely and doesn't compress.
- [42:00]β[46:00] β The childhood-discipline oral history, an unhurried, funny, and oddly tender stretch of shared memory the summary can only gesture at.
