Building in Public: Regen Noir
Host: Burningbush (@BurningBush_eth) with cohost Sho (@AgogoKaren) · Sun, Sep 20, 2026 · 2:53:29 · ~12 speakers
TL;DR
- Burningbush built the "Regen Noir" story scenes live on the mic — outside and inside of DeStefano's in pixel neon noir — while Sho critiqued every frame in real time, which turned out to be the whole show.
- Ghost (@Ghost_Story86) finally came up on stage after four years of lurking; Jed had promised him a free Regen for it, then discovered Ghost cashed in on the wrong space.
- Sho asked the one genuinely serious question of the afternoon — whether women in Web3 actually face the inequality being posted about — and got long, thoughtful answers from Dan, NoCredits, Burningbush, RealJazzyJ92515 and Lyss.
- The "Burning Bush Hot Seat" ran three rounds: 30 seconds to sell yourself, not your project. MonetizeMe lost badly, Meow nailed it (and forgot to mention Woof), Jed closed with a mic-drop.
- Macaroon mint status: still waiting on OpenSea, who responded to a detailed question with a thumbs-up emoji. Free claims and reveal expected within a day or so.
- Jed made the case for going to other people's Spaces instead of hosting yet another one, and spent several minutes talking Sho out of her stage fright.
Highlights
[31:23] The prompt heard round the Space. Burningbush read his DeStefano's interior prompt aloud in full — "dark wood paneling, deep leather booths, amber wall sconces… heavy dithered shadows, large areas of pure black, no anti-aliasing." Sho's response: "I knew you were distracted. I didn't realize you were that distracted." Dan was delighted: "Bro said dithering and anti-aliasing." [32:21]
[36:31] Sho reviews the art. The first interior render landed and Sho, who has actually eaten at DeStefano's, immediately filed grievances: no booths, no bridge, and later, a mystery structural pillar. Burningbush's defense — it's a noir story, this is the other, members-only DeStefano's — held up about as well as the pillar did. [37:13] The running bit powered the next forty minutes. [1:08:49] "I can't wait to hear all the shit from Sho. Now that's why people don't build in public."
[1:14:19] "Is it really art when you have AI make it for you?" Sho lobbed it in as bait, but Dan took it seriously and gave the most considered answer of the afternoon: AI "breaks all the traditional practices," but without human input there's no output — what changes is that "your taste is in question." He described re-rendering a years-old hand sketch with AI and being surprised by it, and argued the whole wave makes human-made work more valuable, not less.
[1:25:00] Ghost's expensive miscalculation. Jed arrived (windshield wipers on, circling the block near his restaurant) to ask why there was a Space in the middle of the day, then learned Ghost had come up on Burningbush's stage rather than his: "he screwed himself out of a free Regen." Burningbush and Woof both backed Ghost. [1:25:53] "I'm gonna have to start recording my spaces again. Actually — we've got a transcript. We got recaps. Thank you, Dan."
[1:28:00] Jed's pitch: go to other people's Spaces. Rather than stacking more of their own, Jed argued for showing up elsewhere — he'd gone on a 3 a.m. Space with a big outside community, talked for an hour, and picked up 40 followers who now watch what they do. Burningbush described his own version: drop one valuable tidbit, plant a seed, spam emojis so people can click your profile, leave.
[1:34:00] Talking Sho out of stage fright. Sho admitted she's fully comfortable in her own rooms but freezes in "the big ones" — "my hand would be like creeping up really, really little bit and then, no, never mind." Jed's counter: "when I talk about Web3 and NFTs, I know what the fuck I'm talking about… I will go on a stage with Garga, Gordon, any of them. I belong up there." Lyss then defused the whole thing with the story of casually agreeing to a panel with Justin Sun without knowing who he was. [1:40:18]
[1:45:07] The Burning Bush Hot Seat. Rules: 30 seconds, tell us about you, not your project — "we invest in people, we don't invest in projects." MonetizeMe used ten of them, got two more chances, and still couldn't get past "I make music for a living." Meow volunteered as a demo and delivered a clean West Virginia-to-shoe-artist arc with a plug for Meow's Custom Souls snuck in at the buzzer [1:50:43]. Woof thumbed it down throughout — he was not mentioned once. Jed's turn ended with meeting the girl of his dreams at 48, which prompted NoCredits' arrival: [1:56:50] he was "on the edge of my seat" waiting to hear whether Jed would close on Liz or on Web3.
[2:11:01] Sho's serious question. She raised what she'd seen posted about women feeling unsafe or held back in the space, and said plainly that it doesn't match her own experience: "never once have I felt unsafe." Dan said he hasn't seen it in Web3 and wondered how much is the content loop people are stuck in. NoCredits noted the room itself was full of strong women, and added a caveat worth keeping — two people in the same city can have completely different experiences, pointing to a Samoan friend in Auckland who posts about racism NoCredits himself never sees.
[2:16:12] Burningbush on the history. He gave the longest answer, and split it: the 2021–22 conference era was genuinely bad, and he "would never have wished a woman to be alone at any of these events." He also recalled the "women in Web3 panel" as the era's most cynical buzzword. But the space has grown many more safe rooms and many more women founders since, and no single person speaks for all of them anymore. Lyss [2:32:39] and RealJazzyJ92515 [2:19:03] both landed on the same practical note: be undeniable, and change the company you keep if it isn't serving you.
[2:40:29] Complementary, not separate. RealJazzyJ92515's closing thought on gender-siloed communities: single-sex groups are "going to be missing out on the greater picture," because you need both perspectives at the table — with the caveat that intimate, private spaces can have their reasons. This followed Burningbush's mock outrage at being refused entry to the Fuggets, which Sho promptly revealed was May June trolling him, as there are already guys in that chat. [2:40:11]

Who said what
- Burningbush (@BurningBush_eth) — host; built Regen Noir scenes live, read prompts aloud, ran the Hot Seat, and gave the fullest historical answer on women in the space.
- Sho (@AgogoKaren) — cohost; chief art critic, chief troll, and the one who put the afternoon's serious question on the table.
- Dan (@brokenrealitydh) — brought the recap product update, the most thoughtful take on AI-as-art, and left at 5:12 for a dinner reservation he'd been ribbed about for an hour.
- Jed (@jed_131) — dialed in from the car; pushed the "go to other Spaces" strategy and spent real time building Sho's confidence.
- Woof (@WoofArmyXX) — first character in the story, AI video maker, hoodie hoarder, and the sole thumbs-down on Meow's Hot Seat run.
- Meow (@MeowMetaX) — volunteered for the Hot Seat unprompted and demonstrated exactly how to do it (shoes: 5 mentions; Woof: 0).
- Lyss (@Lysss302) — the Justin Sun story, plus a firm case for being undeniable rather than separated into "ETH Woman"-style rooms.
- NoCredits (@NoCredits_) — arrived with the best joke about Jed's Hot Seat answer, then added the Auckland framing to the inequality conversation.
- RealJazzyJ92515 — argued nobody else gets to decide your level of involvement, and that single-sex communities lose the complementary perspective.
- Amy (@barkeep1347) — Broncos, NFT NYC pool hall, and a homemade taco pizza recipe with nacho cheese as the sauce.
- Walt (@WaltDisneyIF) — cleared up his DeStefano's disappearing act (a date, an hour and a half from Jersey) and confirmed hand-holding.
- Jroc3D (@JusCrypto88) — closed the room with Eagles/Titans, a 157-degree field, and "any given Sunday."
Worth a full listen
[1:44:45]–[1:56:00] — The Hot Seat. Three completely different outcomes from the same 30-second prompt. The format is genuinely good and the comedy of Woof waiting in vain for a shout-out can't be paraphrased.
[2:11:01]–[2:42:10] — Women in Web3. Five people answered at length, no one talked over anyone, and the answers diverge in useful ways — Dan's content-loop framing, NoCredits' two-people-one-city caveat, Burningbush's 2021 conference history, Lyss's refusal of the label, RealJazzyJ92515's complementary-perspectives close.
[1:28:00]–[1:44:20] — Confidence and KOLs. Jed reclaiming "KOL" as a real term, Sho admitting she's intimidated by rooms she has no reason to be, and Lyss revealing she agreed to sit on a panel with Justin Sun without any idea who he was.
