Sho time: protecting your peace
Host: Sho (@AgogoKaren) with cohost Superhighgasfees (@SHGFees) · Tue, 22 Sep 2026 · 1:17:00 · ~13 speakers
TL;DR
- Sho opened an unusually candid room on what "protecting your peace" actually means — in web3 and IRL — after admitting the phrase gets used a lot and examined very little [9:12].
- The room landed on three recurring answers: boundaries with people who extract from you, detachment from outcomes, and knowing your own triggers well enough to see trouble coming.
- Pocketgrass (@PocketgrassHQ) made a first-time-speaker appearance with a background in theology and spirituality, and reframed the whole topic around non-attachment and a still pond [31:04].
- BigChed (@jpgBigChed) shared his path through addiction, his father's death, and sobriety [39:53]; SLICK RIC (@richj530) followed with "you won't respect the light until you go into the dark" [45:59].
- Sho got transparent about hovering in a Discord that was bothering her until she finally left — quietly, on purpose [54:06].
- Celeste (@CelesteWAO) closed the deep stretch with a long, unguarded account of overgiving, a friendship that never showed up, and learning to block instead of chase [1:02:20].
- Super plugged his own Space an hour later on handling frustration, and conceded he'd already collected most of the answers in this one [1:14:14].
Highlights
[9:12] Sho sets the table. After two songs and a running complaint that X had been fighting her for two days, Sho laid out the premise: topics get harder to come up with, and this one is personal — she wants to know how people let things go, "because I need to be that way."
[11:04] Nine months of microphone notes. Super's broken phone suddenly sounded clearer than ever. Sho's diagnosis: he'd been covering the mic with his finger. "I mean, we've only been telling you that for nine months." She then floated the alternate Space title: protecting our peace from Super's muffled voice.
[13:32] The macaroon with the Hawaiian shirt. Sho explained her PFP at length — the Hawaiian shirt because Hawaii is her happy place, the little Godzilla-type creatures because they made her think of her 11-year-old grandson, and lavender because purple is her color. A good example of the room's register: the small stuff mattered as much as the heavy stuff.
[18:29] Lyss on boundaries with family. Lyss (@Lysss302) said setting boundaries isn't natural for her, especially with family members who tend to be extractors — "not that they're malicious," just where they are. Her practical fix: when you know you'll be emotionally compromised by a relationship, run the decision past someone who isn't.
[21:35] Super turns it inward. Super pointed out that protecting your peace also means policing how you behave, not just what you let in. He called himself the emotional brother — the one who gets pissed off — and said he's still learning to come at things "level headed," a word Jose (@Yoshi_3000) supplied for him a few minutes later [26:54].
[31:04] Pocketgrass drops anchor. A rare speaker, introducing himself as someone with decades in academia studying theology and spirituality and travel through 30-odd countries, Pocketgrass picked up DARKM N's point about belief systems and pushed it to non-attachment: "What can you detach from?" He then built the room's best image at [34:24] — a pond with no ripple, and the pebble that ruins it — and tied it back to Super's trading story.
[32:34] Trading as a mirror. Super described being the most emotional trader alive early on, getting attached to a position the moment it moved against him, and slowly arriving at a place where a losing trade or an invalidated thesis simply didn't land. "Trading is kind of like a reflection of yourself."
[39:53] BigChed's testimony, and SLICK RIC's answer. Prompted by Pocketgrass asking what his earliest awakening looked like, BigChed walked through wrong crowds, addiction, choosing sobriety, and then losing his father unexpectedly to his own struggles — the pivot point where he decided to stop "falling blindly into previously written scripts." SLICK RIC came up specifically to acknowledge it [44:32], gave him a follow on air, and added his own frame about going into the dark first.
[50:15] Chicken Wizard's curation policy. Chicken Wizard (@ChickenWizardX) admitted that despite sounding outgoing he recluses for days at a time to reset, and described vetting people the same way in games and in NFTs: one bad night is allowed, a pattern gets you months of silence. Sho cut in to ask who exactly he'd been gaming with — "shots fired" — before letting him finish.
[54:06] Sho's Discord confession. The most transparent stretch of the Space: Sho described loving a project but being bothered by its Discord, then hovering in it anyway, not talking, just collecting irritation. She eventually left — and stressed the how: "protecting my peace is not damaging somebody else's peace." Ideally, nobody even noticed she was gone. Lyss backed her up at [57:17] with her own habit of leaving group chats that aren't about anything, and the predictable flames that follow.
[1:02:20] Celeste on the friend who never showed. Celeste described giving 200% to people by default, and a friendship where she kept proposing plans that kept getting cancelled — three times, then years of it — before realizing she was chasing someone who didn't want to be caught. She tied it to quitting trading within a month of starting ("I am overdoing it now, I am getting addicted now"), to losing her grandmother and drowning herself in work, and to childhood bullying. Her conclusion: protecting your peace isn't a morning you wake up and meditate, it's a journey.
[1:10:49] Tim's rotation. Tim (@tim_8093), broadcasting from a tropical region with five fans pointed at him and no air conditioning, offered the most structural take: when life is hard he finds peace in work, when work is hard he finds peace in people. This week he's doing both at once, badly, and says it still beats the alternative.

Notable quotes

Who said what
- Sho (@AgogoKaren) — host; framed the topic, kept it honest, and modeled it by admitting she'd been lurking in a Discord that was only hurting her. Also the room's chief heckler of Super's microphone.
- Superhighgasfees (@SHGFees) — cohost and DJ; argued the concept cuts both ways (what you allow in, and how you let yourself act), and used his swing-trading era as a crash course in detachment.
- Lyss (@Lysss302) — wanted the conversation to go deeper than the usual surface take; spoke on family boundaries, leaving group chats without drama, and her 2026 goal of being more open.
- Pocketgrass (@PocketgrassHQ) — first-time speaker with a theology and spirituality background; supplied the room's philosophical spine (non-attachment, equanimity) and drew BigChed's story out with one good question.
- BigChed (@jpgBigChed) — shared the Space's most personal testimony: addiction, his father's death, sobriety, and self-knowledge as the real mechanism for protecting peace.
- SLICK RIC (@richj530) — came up just to honor BigChed's share; on going through the dark, breaking cycles, and teaching his daughter to embrace failure.
- Chicken Wizard (@ChickenWizardX) — practical curation: recluse to reset, give people one bad night, then stop showing up for repeat offenders.
- Celeste (@CelesteWAO) — closed the deep stretch with the longest and most unguarded share, on overgiving, quitting trading, grief, and learning to block rather than chase.
- Tim (@tim_8093) — dialing in from a five-fan tropical wind tunnel; offered the rotate-between-work-and-people model of finding reprieve.
- Jose (@Yoshi_3000) — level-headedness and triage: is this critical, is it mine, does it need me right now?
- PiffsPeak (@RealPiffsPeak) — comic relief and sincerity in the same breath: inside voices, then "they grow up way too fast."
- DARKM N (@Bryan36krun) — tied peace to morals, belief and spirituality, a thread Pocketgrass picked straight up.
- Burningbush (@BurningBush_eth) — dropped in from the macaroon reveal party, declared himself there to learn how to protect his peace, and was immediately told he'd come to the wrong teachers.
Worth a full listen
- [35:52]–[47:27] — BigChed's full story and SLICK RIC's response back to back. Neither summary nor quote does the pacing justice; this is the emotional center of the Space.
- [1:02:20]–[1:08:55] — Celeste, uninterrupted. The cancelled-plans story, quitting trading in a month, and grief all fold into one argument about energy that only works at full length.
- [29:41]–[35:27] — Pocketgrass's introduction through the pond metaphor, with Super's trading arc slotted in between. The clearest example of the room building on one idea rather than taking turns.
