Peanut Gallery Vol. 126 — "How Would You Describe Yourself?"
Host: Peanut (@peanutt), with Waldo (@waldoforrealz) holding it down · Thu 24 Sep 2026 · 7h 37m · ~25 speakers on the mic
TL;DR
- Peanut opened with a live-sung song set and a framing question that tripped up almost everyone who took the mic: describe yourself, without bragging and without self-flagellating. Most people answered sideways — through what they've built, who they show up for, or what they've stopped pretending to be.
- Recurring thread across the whole night: the skill nearly everyone said they'd grown most in Web3 is listening — closely followed by public speaking, which several people admitted terrified them before spaces.
- Peanut announced he's working with Upshot (pack-ripping/cards), teased giveaways if the room crossed 55 listeners, and plugged the IRL meetup ~4 weeks out in Covington, Kentucky, on a new rooftop venue.
- Long Lost holder Joey Sip pulled up around hour six after roughly three years away — straight from bowling — to say it's the only NFT group he joined in 2022 that's still alive.
- Francesca Sparkles joined from a hospital bed after seizure symptoms, and used the downtime to go deeper with the room rather than log off.
- Somewhere around hour five the space collapsed into pasta war crimes, vegemite defense, kangaroo jerky and donkey meat. It never fully recovered, which was the best thing that happened all night.
- Next week: Vol. 127, "What's Next for Yourself," same time, 7pm EST.
Highlights
[19:35] — Hulkito sets the tone from a traffic jam. First up, mariachi-outfit macaroon PFP fresh that day, Red Bull in hand, going "every bit of one mile an hour." He described himself as uplifting and goal-oriented — a sticky-note guru who writes down his reps — and copped to rolling his windows up while vibing to Peanut's Carly Rae Jepsen opener rather than field commentary from the next lane.
[28:09] — Waldo: "what you see is what you get." Thirteen years of rave culture, dressing as Waldo at festivals, docs as Anthony, still on Facebook (which he listed under toxic traits). He named the ones that cut both ways: believing in himself, being unable to say no, giving people too many chances, and one million and one ideas that need finishing.
[44:08] — Dicey on being a grinder. A long, unvarnished account of switching skill sets until one stuck: collab manager until that era ended, then space hosting, months of showing up and "burning my data" for nothing, a founder pulling the plug on a project and sending him back to square one. The reason he never quit: every time he decided to give up, someone he knew hit it big a week later.
[1:10:33] — Gary Doge and the different hats. Dinosaur by PFP, senior leader by day, single parent by night — the version of himself at work is set by policy, the version as a parent is set by the moral standard he has to model (you laugh at the swear word after bedtime). Spaces, he said, is where he gets to be himself. He'd rather be content than rich, on the logic that every new level just imports new problems. Bonus: the corporate meeting where he said "we're cooked" and the whole room stared at him.
[1:24:06] — Toasty gets raw about how he got here. He described an addictive, solution-oriented brain that tends to hand people answers they weren't ready for, a midlife crisis that had him meditating on his own absence until he was functionally disconnected from the world, and then the decision to reconnect — which is how he found this corner of the internet and people he doesn't have to run ten levels of surface nonsense with.
[2:13:05] — BeeCuzFuture, and the tagline living rent-free. Peanut teed it up and Bee delivered: "I'm Dan Greenberg and I give a shit." What it means in practice — showing up early, caring about coworkers past the coworker layer, handing over the last twenty in your wallet and figuring your own stuff out later. At [2:20:26] he explained his new PFP: he'd minted one, another collector named Bee wanted it as their forever piece, and he traded it away — which is how he met them.
[3:22:56] — Cryptking on bouncing back. Sixteen tests in a week for his auditor's license, a 10am–10pm workday, and a thesis to go with it: without bad days the good ones aren't great. He cited Djokovic living only in the current point and Kobe saying he really only learns from losing, then landed the line of the stretch — "with every level comes another devil" — and pointed out that you'll never reach a follower count where you're satisfied, so enjoy where you are.
[3:37:58] — Peanut explains the job he thinks he's doing. Not "spaces host" — spaces architect. Who follows whom, which voice sets up which voice, thinking several speakers ahead: checkers vs. chess. Halloween later [5:43:45] noted he'd been layered into the flow in real time and hadn't noticed until Peanut described it.
[4:24:03] — Esh arrives and the room tilts. A new nickname for the host ("the electrical nut," backstory withheld), genuine flabbergastation that Waldo doesn't own a Yuki, a report that he and Cryptking had just had coffee together while listening, and the cleanest self-description of the night: a tree trying to grow in a field of fireworks. Then his mom called.
[4:55:16] — The pasta incident, and everything after. Esh confessed to boiling bow ties and macaroni and mixing them, citing an imminent move and hunger. Waldo — an actual Italian — asked whether tiny hot dogs had been added. Cherie declared herself disappointed while admitting she'd done exactly the same. From there: vegemite on wheat bix as childhood survival training [5:00:33], the questionable New Jersey kangaroo jerky supplier [5:03:26], and Peanut's ten-years-later testimonial for donkey meat, delivered with a cat in the room and a firm denial re: dog and cat [5:04:08].
[5:47:33] — Francesca Sparkles, calling in from a hospital bed. After seizure symptoms she's in for longer than she hoped, and decided to spend the time going deeper with the people here rather than disappearing — including the memory of doing a space with Waldo behind a dumpster while waiting on her granddaughter's driving test. Waldo's contribution: make sure the doctors and nurses get tinfoil hats.
[5:57:05] — Joey Sip resurfaces after three years. Home from bowling, several drinks in, he saw the same names in the space he'd seen in 2022 and had to come talk. Bought a Long Lost a week after mint; in the intervening years he got a wife and a two-year-old son, and every other project he joined in that era is dead. His closer at [6:07:54] carried the room.
[6:20:11] — Mr Rèd Byte's life mantra. Calling in at 6:18am before his morning laps: become the embodiment of what you seek. He addressed the pushback he'd gotten that this is manipulative — no, because the second half is that not everyone gives back the same way, and that's fine. What matters is that people show up eventually.

Who said what
- Peanut — host. Opened by singing, framed the topic, and spent the night doing what he later called being a "spaces architect": sequencing speakers, looping thoughts back around, and refusing to conveyor-belt anyone off stage. Also announced the Upshot tie-up and the Covington meetup.
- Waldo — cohost, docs as Anthony. Self-described unhinged, creative, incapable of saying no; delivered the night's warmest hype for STONES and the night's hardest pasta question.
- Hulkito — first up from traffic, uplifting and goal-oriented, 90s kid at heart.
- Dicey — the grinder's account: skill-switching, unpaid months, a founder shutting a project down, and showing up anyway.
- Drownin — first space in roughly two years. Type C, perfectionist, people-pleasing; likes that Web3 lets you be anybody. Eagles.
- Gary Doge — the different-hats framework, contentment over wealth, and a practiced eye for people reading off a sheet.
- Toastymfer — the most personally exposed answer of the night: burnout, meditating on death, and rebuilding with people he doesn't have to perform for.
- YOUNGFAB_BASE — energy and volume, literally shivering outside; told the story of being told to shut up in 2022 for talking too fast, and deciding to stay loud.
- WEB3JOEs — self-belief as a discipline; keeps shooting shots, and prays about them (including, to his own surprise, about WAGBi).
- BeeCuzFuture — "give a shit" as an operating system; also the Viking-helmet macaroon trade story.
- OBIE — seven kids, a hundred chickens, a dog breeding program, and a Web3 foothold built by making music for spaces that didn't have any.
- Mumpsy — patience, sacrifice, Rome-wasn't-built-overnight; built a website, a PFP generator and a game in the time he's been here.
- Nathalia Spade — Brazilian, dances, talks to strangers, evangelist for Suno; the "hit the request button" push.
- STONES — pure vibe delivery, plus the roll call that got Waldo off his third coffee.
- Cryptking.eth — the night's most quotable strategist: bounce-back, conditioning for change, judge yourself at space 200 not space 3.
- Esh — the electrical nut; tree in a field of fireworks; rugged the Italians.
- Chérie — Australian, spaces host, went from terrified of public speaking to running several a week and looking at marketing courses; defended vegemite to the last.
- Gatito Feliz — "orange, fluffy, and I'm completely in love with you," plus fantasy football consultation on the Vikings defense.
- GHOSTY — overtired, half a head bitten off, and clear-eyed about why this format works: it doesn't have to stay on topic.
- WAGBi — builder, father, dreamer; came to study how to close a space gracefully after ending one at 2am with a click.
- Glitchy Glitch — DoorDashing mid-space; forklift knocked over three racks of expensive inventory at the warehouse earlier.
- HALLOWEEN On SOL ST — Rick Rubin on not defining yourself, McConaughey on being your own hero, and "connoisseur of good people."
- Francesca Sparkles — joined from hospital; using forced rest to go deeper with the people here.
- Joey Sip NFT — day-one Long Lost holder back from a three-year absence; the night's unplanned emotional peak.
- Mr Rèd Byte — becoming the embodiment of what you seek, delivered before 6:30am laps.
- Moon — memes, microcaps and on-chain startups; got a friendly reminder about the room's no-shill policy and took it in stride.
- Shinygal #UDS — "just a girl exploring," building at the intersection of blockchain and agriculture, one goal at a time.
- Crypto Cobra — closed the loop on a friendship that outlived the project that started it.
Worth a full listen
- [4:24:03] – [5:05:52] — Esh's arrival through the pasta confession, the vegemite defense and the kangaroo/donkey meat detour. Summaries can't carry the timing, and this is the stretch the room was laughing hardest at.
- [3:22:56] – [3:52:22] — Cryptking and Peanut back and forth on conditioning yourself for change, why successful people break what they've just built, and the difference between listening and waiting to say your line. Dense, and neither of them is padding.
- [5:57:05] – [6:18:06] — Joey Sip's unfiltered four-year testimonial, and Peanut's answer about betting on the long term. Unrehearsed, slightly tipsy, and the clearest argument the whole night made for showing up every week.
