Unrealized — Pt. 3: What's Your Conviction

Host: Peanut (@peanutt) with co-hosts Waldo (@waldoforrealz) and Based (@Based_AllMight) · Wed 30 Sep 2026 · 4h 28m · ~20 speakers

TL;DR

Highlights

[21:06] — The Android heard round the Space. Based, whose disconnections are practically a segment at this point, revealed his newly stable device was not an Apple one. Peanut suggested this probably should have stayed confidential, then flagged him as "a perfect case study for future space dwellers." Seven minutes later Based dropped off stage mid-conversation. Waldo's diagnosis: the phone "just doesn't like multitasking."

[40:25] — All Your Base and the stonk-ticker gold rush. Fresh off a deployer announcing 19 new meme-stonks, All Your Base realized the brand does the work for him: "all your Palantir belong to us, all your Microsoft belong to us, all your whatever." He launched a batch; the first had already done 50k in volume a couple hours in. Peanut used it as a pivot into the opposite of conviction — people who paint a beautiful picture right up until conditions change and the plug gets pulled with nobody taking responsibility.

[52:37] — WRX on hitting rock bottom three times. The longest and most concrete conviction story of the night. A first 90% drawdown from an $18M market cap ("it is a devastating blow"), a forced migration from Fantom to Sonic where the infrastructure simply wasn't there, a Telegram so dead it was "just Peter at night and Zorglad at day putting up memes… just keeping it looking active," then building a bridge themselves and bringing ten projects over. He also credited Röcky, whose ~100 alt accounts kept the community's case alive when a public-facing founder couldn't attack a foundation directly.

[1:07:14] — Panda on gyms in February. Panda Pals framed conviction as planning for the worst case from the start: everyone's resolution is strong in January, the gym's half empty by February, back to normal by March. His prescription — forget motivation, be disciplined to the process, and "water the bamboo," the phrase that had already become the room's shorthand for showing up before the results arrive. He closed on the long game: you overestimate one year and underestimate ten.

[1:28:37] — Four Pandas, one stage. Waldo announced he'd successfully architected the assembly of Panda, Panda 2.0 (WRX), Panda 3.0 (BillabongMonkey) and Panda 4.0 (Peanut, minted the night before), plus XyoPanda for good measure. This immediately derailed into Peanut saying "looped in," someone hearing "loop," and the stage getting stuck in "loop, loop, loopers" until Peanut requested everyone get unstuck.

[1:34:03] — Nathalia Spade wakes the room up. Nathalia took it upon herself to demand emojis from the audience ("Come on, let's go… it boosts up the space, by the way") and got them. That led Peanut to mention Morgan's tool — which he initially thought was a joke — that keeps a live leaderboard of every emoji type thrown into a Space, with a running ticker. He floated turning it into a competition one week.

[1:46:48] — XyoPanda: conviction is community, and fees to prove it. His answer was the most-applauded stretch of the night: humans survived because of community, and we've lost it — "you pass someone on the side of the road and you see they're broken down and you watch 500 cars pass them." He tied it directly to product decisions, explaining he capped fees on Panda Financial at 0.05%, purely to cover Coinbase back-end charges if usage ever scales that far.

[1:51:13] — Mësh, at 3:52am, on freedom. Awake all night and due up at 5, Mësh defined his conviction as freedom — not rebellion, not resistance — and argued most people are stuck doing what their environment conditioned them into. His key distinction: each person is meant to bring completion, not competition, and conviction has to be innate, because if you start from competition you skip your own inner work and forget why you began.

[1:58:38] — Briar Jay, the woods, and the accidental lullaby. Briar joined from the North Carolina woods under a full moon, got eaten mid-sentence by the pine trees and a screeching critter, and came back to talk about living with chronic illness and a brain injury: gratitude for waking up is the whole conviction. Then [2:05:26] she clarified that she keeps falling asleep to Peanut's Spaces — not boring, just Pedro Pascal-adjacent. Based's summary: "she says he's got that Pedro Pascal daddy voice." Peanut noted, with some resignation, that this was now the third such report in two weeks.

[2:30:55] — BubbaGump's Twitch numbers. Asked why he sits at a desk from 10 to 2 every night, Bubba laid out the real shape of streaming: ~240M monthly viewers, 8M streamers, and 98% of those streamers will never see more than 10 viewers. Ninja Cat currently ranks ~40,360th — which sounds rough until you weigh it against 8 million. Peanut then dug up that Amazon bought Twitch in 2014 for roughly $970M cash; Bubba noted the estimate now sits near $46B. His point: X is a revolving door of the same money, and the growth is outside the bubble.

[3:03:19] — Waldo's advice for anyone about to start something. A quiet, serious stretch: before you decide you're a space host or a project founder, research yourself — your niches, your skills, what you're actually passionate about. Maybe you're a content writer, maybe a teacher making tutorials. "You do not have to follow the herd." He closed on foundations: pivot when you must, but don't leave your core roots, or you'll feel the tree come up.

[3:39:06] — Toastymfer takes the topic apart. The most contrarian answer of the night, delivered warmly: if you actually interrogate the word "conviction," you start to doubt it's real. What people call conviction is confidence, and confidence will get rocked. What survives is maturity — having chosen something you genuinely want to do, so the rocking is temporary. "I don't think conviction is even a factor, it's just maturity and time."

[3:59:42] — NoCredits gets caught. After four hours of listening, mowing the lawn and walking the dog, NoCredits came up — and Peanut called on him during the one five-second window he was talking to his son. He recovered to deliver the night's best IRL story [4:07:56]: he spotted a Web3 photographer in a random Space, realized she was also in New Zealand, and they met for coffee in Auckland for three hours. "In a place like New Zealand where if you do web three, you're a scammer, because that's what the news says."

[4:12:38] — BillabongMonkey on data collection. Building on Cryptking's point that you won't be the same person in two years, Billabong explained how he stays even when things shift: view it observationally, as data collection rather than something to react to. "Sometimes really just sitting on your hands is the best choice."

Worth a full listen

[52:37]–[1:06:00] — WRX's migration story. A start-to-finish account of what a project actually goes through when a chain moves the goalposts: the first 90% drawdown, an empty Telegram kept warm by two people posting memes, building a bridge with no support, and coming back a third time. The detail is the point, and a summary flattens it.

[1:46:48]–[1:58:00] — XyoPanda into Mësh. Two very different answers back to back — community as species-level survival tool, then freedom and individuality — that together form the philosophical spine of the night. This is the stretch the live room responded to hardest.

[2:16:26]–[2:41:20] — BubbaGump on streaming. The most concretely useful segment: the hurdles of explaining Twitch to people who've never used it, real platform economics, why he's still there despite the 50% cut, and the Slack story as an argument for letting the thing you built for yourself become the product.
