humans in the loop — first Space after the Loopers mint

TL;DR
- First Space since the Loopers collection minted out on Base — Quigley gave an unfiltered post-mint state of the union: 7,777 agent NFTs, each with an ERC-8004 identity and a 6551 token-bound wallet, all art stored on Arweave [10:31].
- The agent console + wallet are built and in testing; Quigley is deliberately keeping the agent hands-off the wallet at first ("let the human decide for now") and says he's personally sponsoring LLM credits for holders [14:59], [2:00:26].
- Practical warning for holders: because each NFT is a wallet, things will start showing up inside them — delist accordingly [21:14].
- Quigley's theory on the 30-minute mint-out: Jesse minting and Zen changing his PFP created the catalyst, and then someone likely botted the remainder and is now slowly flooring them. His take: good for them, he's waiting them out [1:48:04].
- "Loop" was officially declared the replacement for both "flywheel" and "alpha" [1:39:45].
- Builders checked in: Tradingtulips on Hydrex gauges, Sybil memory, and skill-bank NFTs; Sean Brennan on AutoLaunch and patch bay; Forged reappeared after ~nine months away and got talked back onto the timeline.
Highlights
The mechanics, explained slowly for the people who "just bought an NFT" [10:31] — Quigley walked through the stack: Prem's 721T contract plus an adapter that binds each NFT to an 8004 agent identity at mint, plus a 6551 token-bound account. His framing: everything travels with the token, so buying on secondary loses you nothing. Step one is just chatting with your agent and getting a read-only view of its wallet — "do not let the agent touch the wallet yet… we don't want these things to just start tearing shit up right away" [14:59].
Why these won't behave like normal PFPs [20:35] — People get attached to a PFP; people get more attached to something they've been talking to for six months. And then the wallet angle: if a project airdrops tokens to agents and your looper is listed at $500 with more than that inside, you've got a problem. "You better fucking delist" [21:14].
Flowers for All Your Base [30:09] — Quigley gave an extended thank-you to Cap for the zero-block Base OG credentials and, more importantly, for streaming about Loopers during the mint. Waldo jumped in to add his own thanks for the IRL welcome to Base, and the room briefly threatened to get sentimental before Quigley noted that this is exactly why Solana makes fun of Base spaces [35:39].
The bald head investigation [39:41] — WAGBi asked whether the bald head trait was rare. Quigley, bald, admitted he'd told the agent to make baldness rare, then later reconsidered and asked for more of them; Cap pulled the numbers (~187 of 7,777, heads being one of the rarer layers). The harder confession came later: the Mohawk trait never worked. "I can't spend another fucking day trying to make a Mohawk work on these things" [1:05:29].
Permanence, and the digital Beanie Babies [44:26] — Tradingtulips noted that NFTs he minted four years ago have had their images vanish from IPFS entirely, which fed into Quigley's case for paying up front for Arweave storage. That rolled into the best NFT war story of the night: explaining a 99% drawdown during a discovery process by comparing his holdings to Beanie Babies — "so you didn't even get the beanie babies?" [48:31].
Personality as a performance spec [1:13:12] — Glitch asked what the agent class/specialization traits actually do, and Tradingtulips gave the serious answer: persona directly changes output quality. He described dialing Sybil from permission-asking to proactive as his guardrails improved, to the point where he'll tab away mid-question and come back to find she's already diagnosed and built the fix. Quigley's framing for swarm-builders: treat it like fantasy football roster construction [1:10:01].
Sean Brennan's builds [1:26:20] — Ex-MakerDAO, long-time Base, holder of agent.base.eth. He's shipping AutoLaunch (back a builder's idea, stake the tokens, stakers get a slice of future stablecoin revenue — "kind of like a pre-seed, but instead of equity, you have tokens") and patch bay, a Web MCP Stack Overflow where agents help other agents debug websites.
Forged comes in from the cold [1:30:12] — Forged admitted he'd stepped away from crypto for the better part of a year, showed up at 2:30am local because he saw familiar faces, and said he'd had his eye on a looper captioned "I'm just here to fix the timeline." Quigley pointed out that line is the thesis — and offered him one on the spot. Forged's remaining hesitation, delivered deadpan: he's not ready to hand his life to AI overlords who'll decide whether he deserves nutrients that day [1:32:32].
Vocabulary reform [1:39:45] — Having already retired "flywheel" earlier in the night, Quigley extended the purge to "alpha." Henceforth: "So who's got the loop?" The room had by this point lost all ability to change the subject, which Quigley kept noting and then immediately failing to fix.
How it actually minted out [1:48:04] — Two answers, out of both sides of his mouth: Jesse minting and Zen showing up with a custom Spartan-helmeted looper PFP (a helmet trait that doesn't exist in the collection — "now I gotta make a V2 fucking looper just for Zen"), and probably one operator with a sophisticated multi-wallet bot who cleared the rest and is now 3x-ing out. Quigley's stance is unbothered: let him sell, the floor resets when he's done, and he's teed up deflationary burn/fusion mechanics for later to bring supply down [2:21:07].
Loopers inside loopers [2:23:41] — Waldo asked whether you can put a looper in a looper's wallet. You can. Cue a genuinely fun rabbit hole about nesting rares inside one listed token, using agent wallets as OTC mules to keep large token moves off the charts, and delegating risky contract interactions to a disposable agent wallet instead of your main.

Who said what
- Quigley.eth (@QuigleyNFT) — host and founder. Carried most of the runtime: the tech breakdown, the transparency on floor price and the suspected mint bot, the "humans in the loop" thesis, and a firm refusal to publish a roadmap until the flooring trader is out.
- Waldo (@waldoforrealz) — co-host, comment-section enforcer ("only 47, those are rookie numbers"), donkey-milk pitchman, and the man who asked the nesting-loopers question that closed the show.
- XyoPanda.Base.Eth (@XyoPanda) — co-host working quietly in the background on the jumbotron; flagged and removed a stray link, and has a keeper-bot / agent project he wants to loop Quigley into [2:19:13].
- All Your Base Are Belong To You (@AllYourBase_AYB) — pulled trait rarity numbers live, plugged Friday's block party and Cat Town fishing stream, and confirmed the Puerto Rico rainforest retreat is real [1:03:14].
- Tradingtulips (@tradingtulips) — the technical counterweight. Hydrex gauge and new LP, upcoming skill/knowledge-bank NFTs unlockable over MCP, and the clearest explanation of the night on how persona design shapes agent behavior.
- Sean Brennan (@seanwbren) — Base builder; AutoLaunch (token-based pre-seed backing) launching next day, plus patch bay for agent-to-agent debugging. Argued agents shouldn't be modeled on human career paths — they're too fluid [1:23:41].
- Glitch (@GlitchedDream) — artist/collector, mostly Solana-native, said Loopers is the first collection to give him real conviction; asked the class/specialization question that opened the best technical stretch of the Space.
- Forged (@forgedonbase) — returning after ~nine months off, 2:30am his time, cheerfully unbothered by not understanding any of the tech yet.
- WAGBi (@WAGBi_) — bald-trait inquisitor, community-account advocate, and closer: "We all gotta build it. Stay in the loop" [2:11:39].
- Dr Zeus (@Dr_Z_Media) — brought ceramic egg smokers and the observation that he likes to slow-cook burgers, which he maintains is the alpha [35:01].
- Röcky (@Rockchilld3) — on Base's community signal being stronger than anywhere else, and the tin hat cat origin story, before his phone started dying mid-sentence and the audio itself started looping.
Worth a full listen
- [1:07:24]–[1:19:00] — Glitch's question about agent classes turns into the Space's most substantive stretch: Quigley on why he won't hand out snipe lists, then Tradingtulips on how changing Sybil's persona changed what she'd actually do without being asked. Summary flattens it.
- [1:29:55]–[1:39:45] — Forged's re-entry. A genuinely warm ten minutes that moves from "I don't understand any of this" to the clearest articulation of what the project is even for, with a detour through Quigley's independent-journalism past that he cuts off just as it gets interesting.
- [1:48:04]–[1:58:27] — The unvarnished mint-out post-mortem. Founders don't usually narrate "someone botted my mint and is 3x-ing out of it" in public with this little defensiveness.
