Quirkies 360 π β Audrey's coloring books, Amazon print-on-demand, and the exploit that didn't take a single Quirky
Host: Quirkies (@quirkiesnft, "Sam") with co-host Ash (@princessashleiv) Β· Wed 30 Sep 2026 Β· 1:22:30 Β· 8 speakers
TL;DR
- Audrey (@audrawlife) β longtime holder, Flex's wife, and usually a listener β took the stage for the first time to talk about her second Quirkies-IP coloring book, Kirk and the 10 Magic Stars, out now on Amazon alongside the first book (Nova).
- She walked through the entire Amazon KDP process in practical detail: about a week from finished manuscript to live listing, what gets reviewed, and why her cover got kicked back (wrong format, oversized stars). No AI β hand-drawn by an illustrator in Sweden.
- Books three through roughly ten are already mapped, including a Quirk Kids sleepover mystery in a week or two and a 24-day Advent-calendar coloring book for Christmas.
- Ash re-stated the IP rules β you own the IP to the Quirkies you own; the team holds the trademarks on Quirkies/Quirk Kids/Kirk; nothing adult, ever β and admitted the IP page on quirkies.io needs rebuilding, which Papii immediately turned into a to-do.
- Papii nominated Ash, Sho, Molly and Audrey to bring back Women's Wednesday, the space that pulled Audrey into the community in the first place. Ash delegated it to Audrey inside of eleven seconds.
- In the last twenty minutes, Papii gave the fullest account yet of the recent exploit: zero assets lost, 135 Quirkies frozen via the upgradeable contract, hard staking staying (not moving to soft staking), and a new monthly prize system for stakers in the works with an outside developer.
Highlights
[4:34] Flex sets the frame: this is an IP-building case study, not just a book launch. He introduced Audrey as a coloring book author "making the world a little bit more colorful," and said the theme of the hour would be how and why she's using Quirkies IP to build her own business β hoping to spark the people listening who already have an idea and haven't moved on it.
[6:26] The Quirk & Kode Donuts coaster that never left the desk. Flex revealed he's still using a coaster Audrey won in an Ash giveaway years ago β every single day at his office β and had to reach for the English word for it mid-sentence. Ash's response: "send the picture because I forgot that I did that."
[11:08] The room refuses to let Audrey be nervous. Flex explained that she'd told him right before the space she was a little nervous, which Papii and Ash weren't having β Ash pointed out she speaks in front of thousands of people. Flex's theory: it's a passion project by heart, and she wants to get it right.
[11:59] Audrey's origin story. From Luxembourg ("a very tiny country between Germany and France. Most people don't know, but it's fine"), in Quirkies since 2022, introduced by Flex, and hooked by Ash's weekly Women's Wednesday spaces, which she described as a genuinely safe space. She still holds her first Quirkling. Her honest self-description: "I'm always a listener, I'm never a speaker."
[14:49] Where the coloring books actually came from. In 2024, going through a hard stretch and dealing with panic attacks, she found coloring videos on TikTok and discovered coloring was both relaxing and close to meditation. That became the idea β a book for kids and adults, with a real story behind it, where every finished copy ends up different because no two people color the same way. "Audra" is Audrey plus drawing.
[18:42] Ten stars, ten values β and Papii's audit. Each star in the new book is a life lesson earned in the story: Kirk is afraid to jump into the lake, the other Quirkies call him in, he jumps, the brave star appears. The golden star is pre-colored; everything else is the reader's. Papii, immediately: "How many stars do you think I have?" Audrey put him over a hundred. At [29:17] Sho came up not with a question but with flowers, saying she'd ordered several for kindergarten-teacher friends and planned to color the patience star repeatedly, because that's the one she needs the most work on β which Flex logged as the kindness star appearing in real time.
[21:51] The tariff era, when children's books had to travel as "documents." Flex recounted the first book's self-fulfilled shipping run from Europe to the US: a postman openly puzzled by the volume, the 2025 tariffs landing mid-run, and a point where private senders couldn't ship books at all β only documents, so they made them look like documents. Everyone got their book; Amazon is the plan from here.
[23:35] The actual Amazon walkthrough. Audrey's step-by-step: draft the story, brief the illustrator (one to two months), open a KDP account, set payment and royalty, keywords, description, cover images, tick the AI-generated box (no), upload a PDF, wait 72 hours. Kirk took five or six days because of cover format issues. Total time from finished book to live: one week. Ash's reason for pressing on this β people are intimidated out of even starting with a company that size. At [33:37] Audrey added the reason the two books are different shapes: she's A/B testing square versus vertical to learn what coloring-book buyers actually prefer. Flex's verdict: "She's a businesswoman."
[41:35] Papii on why print-on-demand is the unlock. He pointed out Amazon's print-on-demand quality now rivals traditional publishers, that there's no minimum order because the equipment and materials already exist, and that the real hurdle with book one was logistics β a hurdle he knows personally, since fulfilling Quirk Life orders himself "takes up the whole kitchen." Then he ordered twenty books live on the space and narrated the two-day delivery estimate back to the room.
[45:53] Ash's take-the-leap speech. Directed at anyone sitting on an idea: someone out there will love it, someone out there won't, and the ones who don't simply don't have to spend their money. Failure is the on-ramp to the next thing, and the fulfillment of watching your product go live beats wondering forever. Practical follow-on at [48:36]: you own the IP to the assets you personally own, the team owns the trademarks, come ask for anything involving those β and Flex drew the one hard line, that the Quirk Kids stay kid-friendly and educational, full stop.
[52:33] Women's Wednesday returns, and a delegation clinic. Papii nominated Ash, Molly, Sho and Audrey to bring it back; Ash instantly handed the lead to Audrey ("that is your avenue"), Papii started laughing, and a genial dispute broke out over whether he'd actually named Ash in the lineup, with Sho and Gm ruling that he had. Flex's read on what Papii was laughing at: "Ash is really good at delegating."
[1:02:06] Ash's thank-yous, and the exploit debrief. Ash gave Piff his flowers for the animation work getting visibly better every week, then thanked Papii for the plan he'd put in place months earlier and his work with 0xQuit to make the assets recoverable. Papii then laid it out from [1:04:13]: the decision three-plus years ago to use an upgradeable contract is why they could freeze 135 stolen Quirkies; he estimates 1,500β2,000 would have been exploited if not for the staking contract; roughly 150 still need reclaiming but are safe. Hard staking stays instead of the planned move to soft staking, and he's working with a developer friend on a monthly prize system for stakers β a revival of the old ~$500-a-month giveaway, with ideas floated around trading cards, streetwear, gaming and experiences.
[1:11:05] Ash makes the staking case personal. She explained the questing mechanics (minimum one OG plus one Quirkling per team, no matching required, ink support being fixed), then noted her one-of-one dragon is a Quirkling β the asset behind Quirk & Kode Donuts. Had it not been questing, it would have been caught in the exploit, and she said losing it might honestly have driven her out of the space. Sho's immediate conclusion: she needs to go buy a bunch of Quirklings, at which point Ash cheerfully told her to sweep the floor.

Who said what
- Quirkies / "Sam" (@quirkiesnft) β host; opened, stacked the stage, handed the hour to Flex and Audrey, and closed it out.
- Ash (@princessashleiv) β co-host; drove the practical questions to Audrey, restated the IP rules, gave the take-the-leap speech, and made the staking case with her one-of-one dragon.
- Flex (@flex_web3) β co-host for the episode and Audrey's husband; framed the IP-building theme, handled links, told the tariff-shipping saga, and closed with wallet-security reminders.
- Audrey (@audrawlife) β the guest; walked through the origin of the coloring books, the ten-star concept, the full Amazon process, and the pipeline of books to come.
- Papii (@RealPapii) β founder; explained print-on-demand economics, bought 20 books mid-space, nominated the Women's Wednesday crew, and delivered the exploit and staking debrief.
- Sho (@AgogoKaren) β came up purely to give Audrey her flowers, already ordering copies for kindergarten teachers, and left committed to sweeping floor Quirklings.
- COACH (@punkrockcoach) β asked the sharpest technical question of the book segment (what exactly tripped Amazon's review on Kirk), and noted it was disorienting to hear Audrey speak rather than laugh at his nonsense on Thursdays.

Worth a full listen
- [14:49]β[21:13] β Audrey's own account of how the books came out of a hard year, and the walkthrough of how each star is earned in the story. Paraphrase flattens it; her telling doesn't.
- [21:51]β[34:33] β The most genuinely useful stretch: European shipping under tariffs, the full Amazon KDP sequence, what gets rejected and why, and the square-vs-vertical experiment. If you're thinking about self-publishing anything, this is the segment.
- [1:04:13]β[1:10:54] β Papii's unbroken account of the exploit, the upgradeable contract decision from three years ago, what freezing can and can't do once an asset hits a bid, and where staking incentives go next.
