How Far You've Come
Hosted by Superhighgasfees (@SHGFees) with cohost Sho (@AgogoKaren) · Sun, Sep 27 2026 · ~1:02 · 7 speakers
TL;DR
- Super opened with a reflection he'd clearly been chewing on: he used to treat "has money" as a proxy for "is worth listening to," and doesn't anymore [10:04].
- The room converged on a shared answer — look for people rich in experience and character, not net worth — with SLICK RIC adding that age isn't a proxy for wisdom either [24:35].
- Lyss steered the format, asking for self-accountability over self-congratulation, and briefly aired how she felt about a recent LT3 space being ended mid-conversation; Super and Sho took it on the chin and the room moved forward [36:49]–[40:24].
- Tim told the hotel story — 38 weeks, one floor per week, all the way to the penthouse — and what he found up there [44:14].
- Chicken Wizard announced he'll give one of his macaroons to someone affected by the recent hacks, paying forward a near-worthless NFT that once kept him in the space [51:42].
- Super's own throughline: progress is often invisible until it isn't, learned via a skate trick he chased for a year [50:14].
Highlights
[10:04] Money ≠ smart. Super opens with the thought he wanted off his chest: there was a point where, if he knew someone had money, he'd basically pre-agree with them. "I don't let myself disagree with people that were in a situation that I wanted to be in financially." He's since separated the two — meme coin traders are excellent sources on meme coins, and not necessarily on everything else.
[13:44] Sho's counterweight. Sho notes this never really hooked her — the wealthy people she most wants to be around are the ones you'd never know were wealthy, because they're humble about it. Her framing: "money is like — it's not mine anyway, it's God's."
[18:05] SLICK RIC on idolizing. Ric keeps the wheels turning with a riff on how quickly the space idolizes a big bag, landing on "I'm rich in faith and family." He also flags a change he's watched in Super over roughly eight months: from needing outside validation to not needing it — while noting that advice from experienced people is still worth having, just not as a substitute for your own decisions.
[23:05] The refinement. Super pushes his own point a layer deeper: a good mentor is someone rich in experience — and yes, experience often correlates with money, which is probably why he conflated them for years.
[24:35] Ric's correction. Gently: being older doesn't mean having wisdom. "A lot of people are 50, 60 years old living in the same cycle of life." Keep a mentor at any age, and skip the comparison entirely — "comparison is the thief of all joy."
[32:32] Sho's honest inventory. A year ago she hadn't made an image or touched ChatGPT. Now the goal is video, which she calls a "silly" one — and Super immediately tells her not to sell herself short, while acknowledging the irony of that advice coming from him.
[36:49] Lyss on self-accountability. She reframes the whole topic: "How far you've come" should include an honest audit of what didn't work. "Yesterday I had a great space. Today I had a great space. Tomorrow my space might be mid." She also raised, without dwelling on it, that she hadn't been in an LT3 space since one was closed mid-conversation and that she wouldn't run a room that way; Super owned it as a spur-of-the-moment call, Sho took responsibility for her part, and Lyss deliberately pivoted the room back to the topic [40:27].
[44:14] Tim's hotel. The story of the space. Traveling weekly to New York to build a $250M hospital, the hotel moved him up one floor per week for 38 weeks. Each floor up, fewer people — residents who'd been living there since Sandy, since 9/11, proud of the altitude and entirely alone. He'd been bringing friends up the whole way, and realized at the penthouse window that the person he most wanted there was his wife: "That was when I realized I had to marry her" [47:15]. Punchline: he still books that hotel, same room every time — not the top floor, it's too noisy.
[51:42] Chicken Wizard pays it forward. Back after a break from spaces for a mental reset, he announced he'll give a macaroon to someone hurt in the recent hacks. When he was at his lowest and thinking about quitting, someone handed him a ~0.0005 ETH NFT — worth pennies, enough to turn it around. His broader lesson came from moving cities on his last dollars: you can't carry much on a bus, so you learn what actually matters is people.
[50:14] The skate trick. Super's parallel to Tim's story: a year of attempts at one trick at one spot, trying his hardest and failing — then one day landing it on the fourth try without breaking a sweat. "Progress is often invisible until it's not."

Who said what
- Super (@SHGFees) — host. Set the premise, opened with the money-as-credibility confession, and closed by admitting he sometimes acts like a listener in his own room rather than the person steering it [41:24].
- Sho (@AgogoKaren) — cohost. Grounded the money thread in humility and faith, and gave the most concrete "how far" answer in the room: a year ago, no images, no ChatGPT; next up, video.
- Lyss (@Lysss302) — the room's energy and format conscience. Pushed for self-accountability, called for engagement, and kept redirecting the conversation to the actual question. Also a Bills fan having a very good Sunday.
- SLICK RIC (@richj530) — the sermon slot. Don't idolize anyone, keep a mentor forever, age isn't wisdom, be rich in faith and family. Then left to watch the Niners.
- Tim (@tim_8093) — dropped in, told the hotel story, defined the space's thesis in one anecdote, and stayed characteristically brief.
- Chicken Wizard (@ChickenWizardX) — returning from a self-imposed break, announced the macaroon giveaway and made the case that the connections, not the assets, are why he's still here.
Worth a full listen
- [44:14]–[48:52] — Tim's hotel story. Uninterrupted, well-told, and the summary can't carry the pacing of the floors going up as the company goes down.
- [18:05]–[26:01] — SLICK RIC's two-part run. The delivery is half the point, and his mid-stream correction of Super on age-versus-wisdom is a good example of the room sharpening an idea in real time.
- [36:49]–[41:24] — Lyss on accountability, and the LT3 conversation. A short, honest stretch about how you handle a room when it's not going your way — and how the people involved handled it live.
