What Can You Be Doing Better? Conquering Yourself

Host: Superhighgasfees (@SHGFees) with cohost Sho (@AgogoKaren) · Sat, 26 Sep 2026 · 58:40 · ~7 speakers

TL;DR

Highlights

[11:31] Super's opening three. Urgency first — the thing he takes from watching Pudgy: there's always something new, always motion. He admitted LT3 had held itself up trying to sell out one pillow colorway before moving on, when those are year-round products. Then consistency (solid in Web3, recently complacent in Web2 — now he's calling Jack when a post doesn't go up), then the hardest one: being less emotional and just grinding.

[17:17] The mascot page. The ad strategy diagnosis: they'd been running the page like a drop-shipping account, which works for impulse-fix products, not for something people need to know and love first. The fix is to make the account about the mascot, then film ads with the mascot — a hand doing an unboxing, whatever — once there's enough recognition for it to carry. He was candid about the numbers, too: from averaging 50k views a video down to 300–400 [29:52].

[18:46] "At 40 minutes we'll bring Tim up." Super's bit about scheduling Tim's wisdom drop like a segment — bring him up, he drops knowledge, he jumps right back down. (Tim was in fact brought up at [39:54], close enough for jazz.)

[24:39] BIRB on retrospectives and culture. His better-thing is reflection with structure — after the BIRB cafe pop-up, he started writing an actual retrospective: what he invested, how it went, what to do differently next time. Applied to LT3, his read was that Instagram is full of cute characters on keychains and pins that fade, because nobody builds a culture behind the character. A mascot account, he argued, is how you start building one — Hello Kitty being the reference point.

[33:11] Dan waters the garden. Dan described self-criticism as more feature than bug — it gave him urgency, but it also keeps him from living in the moment. Going into fall, he said, there's "a version inside of me that's scraping at the wall saying let me out," a creative part he can bury under client work, emails and deliverables. The thing he can do better is nurture it, and he noted the propagating effect: the more he waters that garden, the better his family life gets.

[36:06] Stay original to LT3. Dan's note back to Super on studying other projects: those are wins for the space and useful models, but the hard part is staying true to what LT3 actually is. He said the expressionism in the art is rich enough to entertain almost any demographic if it's posted consistently — "I can see it for you" — and then landed his plane, "or my egg, as chicken says" [37:34].

[37:53] The blank. Super got so hyped he lost the point he was about to praise, tried twice to retrieve it, and settled on the modern solution: it'll be on recap. BIRB's suggestion — just do another Space about it.

[40:10] Tim on grace, gut, and what viral actually feels like. Tim used to journal every night, judging the day, until he realized he'd stopped watching movies with his wife because every second had to be improvement. His better-thing now is trusting his gut instead of demanding black-and-white proof. On virality: he's had YouTube videos take off, and if you're not ready, the comedown is real — you chase the next high, then the next. His took eight months to trickle back down, and he kept going because he loves the thing itself. He tied it to the recent Magic Eden incident catching even longtime developers: there's never a point where you stop learning, but there is a point where you trust yourself [43:02].

[45:49] "It doesn't look very fun to be running this page." Super relayed feedback from Filthy about LT3's content being variations on one idea, and how it reframed things — don't let what performs dictate everything you make. Which flowed into his skateboarding analogy: nobody had to force him to go to the skate park and learn a trick.

[47:21] Thrill bets on himself. Thrill said the title matched exactly what he's been working on: conviction, going all in, and getting out of his bubble — he's heads-down-and-building by default, and coming up on stage was the practice rep. He also compared notes on a slow Shopify month.

[54:27] "Done is better than perfect." Dan closed by reading section 17 of Feck Perfection by James Victore, whom he called a Mr. Miyagi for creative people: perfectionism as a head game, a driver that hits the brakes more than the gas, stopping projects and relationships before they start. Super immediately started counting things in his own life it applied to [56:14].
