Happy Hour 36: "Community is helping each other"
Host: Mike Campbell (@mikecampbelltv), with cohosts Bored Osaka (@BoredOsaka1) and Agent (@agentbye) · Mon, Sep 28 2026 · 2:32:32 · 13 speakers
TL;DR
- Opened on the aftermath of the hack: Bored Osaka asked the room to send Quit messages of emotional support rather than tokens, since he's carrying more guilt than he earned [6:54].
- Long, genuinely useful walkthrough of The Card Wall's new "Alley" claw machine — pricing tiers, Collector Crypt slabs, where your pull actually lands (membership wall vs. connected wallet vs. OpenSea), and the new 72-hour sell-back window [26:22] / [29:26].
- SpaceKitty gave a raw update on her 13-year-old daughter's sudden onset of severe tics, and the room stopped everything for it. Executive and Bored Osaka both shared their own family stories in response [53:29] / [1:11:08] / [1:17:35].
- Mommy revealed she'd quietly organized meals for SpaceKitty's family, then made the case that the "don't get personal on here" meta is exactly what's made the space worse [1:38:10].
- Chaz turned a tangent about AI agents talking to each other into a concrete offer: a free screen-share session (possibly a Discord channel for anyone who wants in) to get people running local models — starting with 3D-printing a protective flute mouthpiece for SpaceKitty's daughter [1:47:03] / [2:07:44].
- Closed with Cowboys/Eagles trash talk and Bored Osaka's challenge: text three people in your contacts you never text [2:30:11].
Highlights
[6:54] — Give Quit words, not money. Bored Osaka read Quit's post-mortem post and heard guilt in it. His ask to the room: "he does need more emotional support more so than tokens or cash," and he went off-mic mid-sentence to invite him into the Space. Agent backed it up with a karma argument [8:35]; Asun put it plainest — he didn't have to do what he did, but he did [10:24].
[26:22] — Where did my card go? The extended group debugging of The Card Wall, in which Mike, Agent and Executive slowly discover that PC and mobile layouts differ, that you need to click "the little person," and that a pull made from a connected EVM wallet shows up in wallet and on OpenSea, while airdrops sit in walls. Agent narrowly avoided saying the phrase "Magic Eden" out loud and noted he'd have been banned for it [20:04]. Mike's verdict: "We get through this stuff. See? We just got to talk about it."
[29:06] — Smitdog's "two simple questions." Can anyone use it, and can you get a physical card? Yes to both — which then unlocked the full menu: $50 tiers (Dragon Ball, Pokémon, One Piece, soccer), $100 (basketball, football, Rift Bound — which Asun correctly identifies as the League of Legends TCG), up to $250, with insured-value bands per rarity [40:17]. Mike also confessed the gacha loop in real time: he hit a $1,200 card on a $50 pull elsewhere, rolled it all back in, and finished the night with $30 and an autographed Tyler Adams PSA 8 [16:06].
[53:29] — SpaceKitty's update. The heart of the Space. Her daughter woke up days ago with what looked like shivers and has escalated every day since into full-body and now vocal tics — no basketball, no flute, no knives in the kitchen, tests still pending. She described hurting her hip getting her out of the hospital and not knowing how she'd make dinner, which is why the meals people sent mattered more than they knew. Her daughter overheard the room's messages and smiled: "this is what family looks like."
[1:11:08] — Executive's answer. Rather than offer advice, he offered his own footing: his son is autistic, and Spaces are where he cried about it and got talked through it. "never feel like you're taken away from space because this is what these people in this room are for." Bored Osaka followed with his son's Kawasaki disease and the conversation he had with God somewhere over the Pacific [1:17:35], and Mike and Executive recalled the night the room spent hours tracking down a listener who'd crashed his car somewhere between Arizona and Vegas until someone drove out and found him [1:14:38].
[1:20:38] — Mommy, unmasked. SpaceKitty didn't want to leave without naming who'd organized the help: Mommy, working two jobs on three hours of sleep with her own health issues. Mommy's reply refused the thanks outright and then widened out into the real point — that the "don't talk about your personal life" norm exists because it's easier to rug someone you don't know [1:43:07].
[1:45:00] — The flute mouthpiece. SpaceKitty's plan to mold a food-safe silicone guard for a flute head joint so her daughter can keep playing without chipping a tooth — and her discovery that no such product exists, which spiraled into a call to arms for the room's creatives to go build the things China hasn't gotten around to yet [1:36:40]. Bored Osaka then connected her to Chaz, who was already deep in a 3D-printing pipeline, and they set a call [1:47:03].
[1:51:36] — Uncharted Terry, I for Columbus. Between the heavy stuff, SpaceKitty's tangent about buying $3,000 of streaming gear to live-stream roller coasters on abstract, only to be escorted out of Dollywood — because apparently the pattern of the turns is protected IP. Three hours in line for thirty seconds of footage of her own feet flying through the air.
[2:07:44] — Chaz offers the keys. After a tour of running Claude, ChatGPT and a local model in three conversations auditing each other, and passing .md files between them as cheat sheets, Chaz volunteered to set people up for nothing: "that means it's more creativity for the rest of us, dude." Mike proposed a Discord channel with screen share so more than one person benefits [2:08:30], and noted that walking someone through the Stonk Brokers site line-by-line taught him things [2:09:05].
[2:27:32] — Cowboys, Eagles, and a neutral observer. Agent picked the Eagles for the night purely as a betting play, Executive declared himself born-and-raised Philly and sent the "cow girls" to go dance somewhere, and SpaceKitty adjudicated from first principles: she knows the Cowboys' colors and has never heard of the Eagles', therefore the Cowboys must be better. Mike closed the loop with the actual football take — the lopsided trade that built that '90s super team, and Troy Aikman as maybe the most accurate passer ever [2:29:35].

Who said what
- Mike Campbell — host; ran the Card Wall tutorial, confessed his own gacha addiction, and kept the room's priorities straight when the conversation turned personal.
- Bored Osaka — cohost; opened with the ask for Quit, named what the room was doing while it was doing it, shared his son's Kawasaki disease story, and closed with the three-contacts challenge.
- Agent — cohost; Card Wall UI guide, holder of one very tempting 2001 first-edition PSA 9 he can't decide whether to sell back, and the room's designated scapegoat for every mystery unmute.
- SpaceKitty — gave the update on her daughter's sudden tic disorder, thanked Mommy for the meals, sketched the silicone flute-guard invention, and supplied the night's best tangents (Dollywood, new fears, Pokémon street-vendor forensics at [2:18:44]).
- Εxecυtiνeape Αpe — heavy Card Wall puller and walkthrough helper early; later the first to respond to SpaceKitty with his own experience as an autism dad. Eagles, all day.
- Mommy — organized the meals without being asked, refused thanks for it, and made the case against the space's anti-personal norm.
- chazzgold.eth — arrived mid-Space delighted that two of his own AI agents were negotiating a 3D print job; offered free setup help and a possible community teaching session.
- Asun — checking in from morning in Australia between deliveries; kangaroo-logistics bit, Rift Bound identification, and card-value apps (Collector, Card Ladder) [20:46].
- Smitdog — asked the two questions everyone else was too deep in the weeds to ask, and offered SpaceKitty DM support from years around a friend with Tourette's [1:07:10].
- Tree — hit a chain error on the Card Wall, fixed it by reconnecting her wallet, pulled Pokémon for her brother, and will be at Apefest [2:20:46].
- Merkshot — admitted to not listening, got gently roasted for it, and came back with basketball interest [2:16:30].
Worth a full listen
- [53:29]–[1:13:47] — SpaceKitty's update and the responses from Executive and Bored Osaka. No summary carries the tone of this; it's twenty minutes of people putting down what they were doing and showing up for each other in real time.
- [1:38:10]–[1:45:00] — Mommy's stretch, from refusing to be thanked to her argument that the culture of keeping it impersonal is what makes people easy to exploit. Worth hearing at full volume.
- [1:45:15]–[2:09:05] — Chaz and SpaceKitty's AI conversation, which starts with bots arguing with each other about 3D print files, detours through bots that confess to lying, and ends as a plan to teach the community to run local models for the price of a decent Mac mini.
