BLACKFEATHER REFLECTIONS 🪶
Host: UNCLE CORVUS (@unclecorvus) · Date: Sun 21 Sep 2026 (Mon 11am AEST) · Duration: 3:03:48 · 5 speakers
TL;DR
- Episode one of Blackfeather Reflections, a new recurring Space: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11am AEST — i.e. Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday nights for the US crowd — with Mondays as the anchor hour for reflecting on the week just gone and setting the one ahead [23:33], [1:12:30].
- Uncle Corvus laid out where Blackfeather is heading: 11 doctrines, a book he describes as closer to a thesis/syllabus than a sermon, an app with journaling and a "mindsite mechanics" section, and a possible application to formalise it as a ministry [46:28], [1:24:31].
- He doxxed his first name on voice for the first time — Eduardo, "they call me Eddie" [1:29:37], [1:31:05] — which Dan immediately converted into a National Lampoon's nickname [2:05:07].
- Bammy got an extended shout-out plus an actual business idea: put his digital prints on Etsy and target cafés and seasonal home decorators [1:04:27]–[1:07:10].
- Margie B carried a long open floor on community etiquette, acknowledging every hand and every listener, and why she checks on people who go quiet [2:47:39].
- Closed with a call to read Ephesians 6:10–12 before next Sunday's reflection [3:01:06].
Highlights
[2:15] — The jet ski economy. Corvus opened Monday morning at full voltage by awarding prizes to everyone present ("You've all won a jet ski"), and Dan played it perfectly straight: he'd been having a chill Sunday, and now he was going to go sit on his front porch and wait for delivery. Corvus offered to let him spec it — pinstriping, extra padding, whatever he wants.
[6:08] — Fellowship, on and off the golf course. A genuine thread opened up about church: Dan admitting he "cheats" and gets his fellowship on the golf course, since "God is with us, so fellowship can happen anywhere." Corvus took it further, describing frustration with sermons that feed the crowd what it wants rather than what it needs, and with a roster of volunteers who couldn't cover the lights for one night.
[12:22] — The first-date warning label. Lady Corvus described early dating: she asked him a question and he prefaced his answer with "are you sure you want to hear my answer?" Sixteen years later, that's still the operating manual — zero sugarcoating, take it or leave it. She followed with the counterweight [14:03]: soulmate, best friend, confidant, the person who talks her out of the dark.
[15:17] — Velcro. Corvus's self-description of why people's masks come loose around him: "I got built with velcro." Not a talent he goes hunting with, he says — it just happens in conversation, and these days he removes himself rather than staying to swing. Dan circled back a few minutes later [18:53] to ask what that ability actually feels like from the inside.
[19:44] — The dirt bike fight. The story of his last serious fight and the charge that came with it: trail bike riders doing donuts through a group of eight-to-ten-year-olds at an athletics day. Lady Corvus cut in with the part he'd skipped [20:27] — their daughter sprinting across the field yelling "Daddy" — and Corvus admitted he was sweating just reliving it [21:33]. It ended with helicopters, a paddy wagon and him at the bottom of the pile.
[37:48] — The Windex pharmaceutical conspiracy. A Latino-household-remedies tangent (Vicks fixes everything) escalated into a fully committed bit about snorting Windex for hay fever, with Corvus's theory that the only reason it isn't on prescription is that Windex can't afford to pay off doctors like the pharma companies do. Dan declined to attend the livestream; Margie stipulated that if they do it live she needs to watch him buy the bottle, because "it could be food colouring, and then you try to get slick" [39:03]. It ran as a callback for the rest of the Space.
[53:18] — "I built you with that fire." The most personal stretch of the night. Corvus shared his power verse, Isaiah 43:1 [50:39], an encounter he describes as brief and unspectacular but physically overwhelming [51:52], and years of being told by everyone — doctors included — to get rid of his anger. He prayed to have the fire taken away and got a no: keep it, learn to aim it. He also explained why he's declining ADHD medication for now [1:39:38], framing it as his own call rather than advice.
[1:18:26] — A bag of dicks, or possibly KFC. Margie B's public service announcement on Spanish dialects: bicho means one thing in Puerto Rico and "bird" in parts of Mexico, Peru and Ecuador — so a certain phrase said in a late-night Space could, linguistically speaking, have just been a bag of chicken. Corvus immediately proposed an NFT of himself holding a bag of chickens, then thought better of it [1:21:24], and detoured into growing up in his father's butcher shop trying to take steak orders across six national vocabularies.
[1:29:37] — "My name is Eduardo." After laying out that the Blackfeather Protocol "was not written from a place of mastery, it was written from exposure," Corvus dropped the name on voice for the first time. He explained the timing — moving forward, getting more serious, tired of the detachment — and then reminisced about being an Eduardo in 1990s Australia surrounded by Shanes, Waynes and Bazzas [2:07:00]. Dan's verdict: you are now Uncle Eddie [2:05:07]. Margie's: every Eduardo she's ever met was a pool boy or a private dancer [2:08:33].
[2:41:39] — Acknowledge the hand. Corvus's closing theme, delivered as praise for how Wolf and Margie run their rooms: every raised hand gets acknowledged, even mid-sentence. He tied it to his café days [2:44:26] — a customer will forgive five minutes at the register but not thirty seconds of being unseen. Margie's own version [2:47:39]: DMing listeners to thank them for showing up, and going looking for regulars who disappear, having once been the person nobody called.

Who said what
- Uncle Corvus (@unclecorvus) — host. Ran the room, launched the Reflections format, told the stories, and spent the last hour laying out the Blackfeather Protocol, his exclusivist Christian position, and his role as "the steward" rather than owner of the project [1:53:00].
- Margie B (@MargieAponte2) — the room's other engine. Allergy and hospital stories, cleaning-chemical PSAs, dialect translation service, a long account of the church behaviour that made her walk out, and a closing argument that every listener has value and deserves to be acknowledged.
- Lady Corvus* — Corvus's wife and the room's train driver, forever trying to get the conversation back on the tracks [42:36]. Filled in the missing half of the dirt bike story, described the university outreach and the Muslim man who keeps coming to their church [1:57:34], and left to get the Bubba to homeschool.
- Dan Greenberg ("B cuz")* — deadpan counterweight all night: the porch-side jet ski wait, the golf-course fellowship, the Windex non-endorsement, and the Uncle Eddie christening. Gave a quick update on the "give a shit" creator token — about $12–13 in creator awards so far, and rising with the community [1:17:42].
- Ryan* — steady support from the wings, keeping the jumbotron fed, vouching for Bammy [1:04:20], and quietly sitting on Margie's "paper toilet" for three months before Wolf made him say something [2:57:20].
Worth a full listen
- [19:44]–[22:02] — The dirt bike story, told twice: once by Corvus with the crucial detail missing, then filled in by his wife, then relived by him with his hands sweating. The summary can't carry the way his voice changes.
- [50:39]–[55:39] — Isaiah 43:1, the encounter he describes as unremarkable and unrepeatable, and the "no" he got when he asked for the fire to be taken away. The spine of everything he announces later.
- [1:18:26]–[1:24:00] — Margie's dialect lecture, from bichos to birds falling from the sky, straight into Corvus's butcher-shop memories of six countries ordering the same cut of steak six different ways. Unsummarisable and very funny.
