COYOTES AND CROWS: Water Has Memory, Windex Does Not

Host: UNCLE CORVUS (@unclecorvus) with co-host Margie B (@MargieAponte2) · Mon, 21 Sep 2026 · 52 min · 3 main speakers

TL;DR

Highlights

[9:41] Undercover for the Latinos. Uncle Corvus explained the recurring joy of Australians assuming he doesn't speak Spanish, or Spanish speakers assuming he doesn't speak English. "I'm Uruguayan. I understand every word that's going on here." McFly matched the story from New York, and the pair landed on a shared moral: you never know who understands what.

[11:17] The ginger bartender who spoke eight languages. A perfect small bar story — two guys talking trash at the bar about a very pale Australian barman, who leaned forward and delivered a reply in fluent Czech. It turned out languages were his hobby. "You gotta be careful with people."

[14:22] New York vs Sydney, judged entirely on food. McFly made the case for New York's density of cuisines — including a Little Italy spot where the ambiance and the staff make it feel like you've left the country. Uncle Corvus countered with Sydney's mom-and-pop scene and his first date with his wife: a dumpling place with plastic chairs, thirty bucks, and a woman who had never been on a date like it [15:45].

[17:44] The New York water theory. McFly dropped the detail that a pizza shop he loves in Miami has its dough made with water shipped from New York, for texture. Uncle Corvus, already a water obsessive, treated this as confirmation of everything and went straight to tinfoil-hat territory about data centres wanting fresh water "so they can wipe the memory of the water." He said what he said [19:17].

[20:06] The water agent reveal. This is where the Space found its spine. Uncle Corvus described four recipes in a Sydney lab, a trained AI agent loaded with his parameters for parts-per-million of minerals, and sachets of crystals — so someone in New York could adjust their water to emulate his in Sydney and brew his coffee bean the way he intended. His argument: 96% of a cup of coffee is water, so if the water's wrong, nothing downstream is right. He's also over hydrogen tablets: "That's a band-aid. You feel good for 15 minutes" [22:27].

[23:57] McFly's diabetes story. Four years pescatarian, by necessity rather than trend. A diabetes diagnosis, a doctor telling him he was "one cupcake away from a stroke," four insulin shots a day, then oral medication, then nothing at all. He also noticed he can taste the difference between farmers-market and supermarket peppers cooked side by side, and reads every ingredient label now because sugar is in everything.

[35:09] The son of a butcher on meat, and the stroke. Uncle Corvus responded to the cupcake line with the other side of it: "I went past the cupcake... I died twice on the way to hospital." One year of a vegan diet fixed it — "the hungriest year of my life. I do not recommend it." He also drew on growing up around his father's butchery to describe knowing when a "fillet mignon" is back strap glued together, and laid out the Blackfeather ethos: mind, body, spirit, and watching what you consume with your eyes and ears, not just your mouth.

[38:01] Windex is not a food group. Margie B took the mic to formally address a claim from a previous three-hour space that sniffing Windex is the best thing in the world. "We're not sniffing Windex. We're using Windex for those dusty, nasty bathroom mirrors." Uncle Corvus maintained it was someone else who said it, and that they had at least included a disclaimer to consult your doctor.

[39:46] Vinegar evangelism. McFly redirected the cleaning-products conversation toward natural remedies — vinegar for nearly everything, salt and lemon for pots and pans — on the grounds that the nice-smelling chemicals are among the worst things we breathe. Uncle Corvus concurred with the story of spraying vinegar on his moss-prone driveway every three months: no scrubbing, no soap, no casualties. "No animals died in the process, you know, not even an insect."

[50:55] Margie's closing. A genuinely warm sign-off about the market being erratic and outside anyone's control, while everyone's life is worth more than that: talk to people, including strangers, including someone who's homeless — "you don't know what that person's going through."

Notable quotes

Who said what

Uncle Corvus (@unclecorvus) — Host. Ran the room from Sydney at 10pm his time, set the Blackfeather ethos of mind/body/spirit, and carried the show's two obsessions: water chemistry (four lab recipes, an agent, sachets) and coffee. Former butcher's son, stroke survivor, self-described "uncle guinea pig" who tests everything on himself first.

Margie B (@MargieAponte2) — Co-host and, by her own description, "the voice behind Uncle Corvus." Shouted out every name in the room, delivered the anti-Windex ruling, and closed with the warmest stretch of the hour — rest, don't carry stress into other people's days, and laughter as free Botox.

McFly* — The guest who drove the health thread. New York-based, pescatarian for four years after a diabetes diagnosis, now off medication. Contributed the New York water/Miami pizza dough detail, the vinegar-over-chemicals case, and a baking habit built on sugar-free desserts and homemade fruit roll-ups.

Worth a full listen

[17:44]–[22:27] — The pivot from "New York water makes better pizza" to Uncle Corvus standing up out of his chair to announce a water agent, four lab recipes and remineralization sachets. The enthusiasm doesn't survive paraphrase.

[23:57]–[29:49] — McFly's diabetes story told straight through, uninterrupted, from blurry vision he blamed on three jobs to four insulin shots to nothing at all. The most substantive stretch of the Space.

[35:09]–[36:35] — Uncle Corvus on going past the cupcake: two deaths on the way to hospital, a year of veganism he does not recommend, and why he now wants the conversation to happen before people need it.
