TL;DR

Highlights

[1:35] The reason the space exists. Jed opened mid-connection-issue, on no sleep: "I got up at seven to the hack and realized that four of my quirkies are gone." He and Lyss moved their noon slot up because it didn't feel right to make people wait for a room to land in.

[10:57] "Welcome to Web3." After the music break, Jed framed the day as a near-miss black swan — in his read, if the exploit had run its course it could have reset NFTs to zero and taken years to recover from.

[12:19] Lyss's incident summary. The most useful five minutes in the room: the exploit started quietly with Meebits, Deeds, World of Women and Deadfellaz-era assets, went unnoticed for about 12 hours, and was escalated to Limit Break and Magic Eden after 0xQuit was pinged. V3 was pausable; v2 wasn't, so the only protection was the white-hat sweep — 23,000+ NFTs, over $6M. WETH couldn't be secured as fast [13:46].

[14:38] Worst birthday timing available. Yot, celebrating, on waking to the news: "I can promise everyone this wasn't me. I didn't fancy treating myself in this way." He added an odd historical footnote — Fugs had once pushed Magic Eden on enforced royalties and been declined, which may be part of why Fugs came through largely untouched.

[25:04] Dan on what happens after. The Regen Noir dev, drained himself last October, said the thing he hadn't expected was people rallying — returning assets, helping others buy back in. It's what kept him in the space, and his ask was simple: if you can help someone today, help them. He also flagged multisig vaults as a cold-storage alternative.

[25:47] Burningbush on not living in it. He'd already had three people text asking him to spin up a space that wasn't about the hack. His take: be diligent, revoke, and then "reset, refocus, realign" and keep building — with the caveat that they'd be in the room today either way.

[29:39] How you save 23,000 NFTs. Chicken Wizard walked through the white-hat logic — same vulnerability, weaponized in the other direction, likely with fee-priority games to win transaction ordering. His practical advice: only keep approvals live while you're actually trading, and don't assume a hardware wallet saves you if the approval is signed from it.

[37:22] The room's honest confession. Yot, deadpan: 0xQuit has achieved godly status, and also denied a great many people generational entries at 50% off. Jed confirmed his DMs were full of people asking which Creeps traits were rare — "you guys are fucking diabolical, man" — before Chicken Wizard took the moral high ground for approximately 38 seconds and then admitted he was looking at a Creep on the floor "right now" [57:29].

[40:37] Why you're here, according to Burningbush. A full Friday sermon on the actual product NFTs sell: inside jokes and computer friends. "If you do not have any friends, you have come to the right place. We don't either. That's why we're here."

[52:58] Chicken Wizard, allegedly CIA. A long, escalating bit built out of Chicken Wizard's travel history and Burningbush's Regen Noir "character research," with Vinyl joining from Mexico to file a formal complaint that his assigned agent never showed up to play Terraforming Mars [54:50]. Chicken Wizard reported actual tears.

[1:10:45] BLU's 27th wedding anniversary. A genuine bright spot dropped into a rough morning — steakhouse, casino at National Harbor, and a line about feeling more fortunate than he deserves. Lyss's congratulations ("you've been married almost as long as I've been alive") triggered a brief, spirited dispute about her age [1:11:33].

[1:07:58] Lyss draws the line carefully. A clarification worth hearing: pivoting to good energy isn't minimizing what happened. Anyone still hurting could talk about it on mic or in her DMs — and if you're just cranky and taking it out on the space, that's allowed too.
