Re:Envisioning Web3 #340 — "Conviction and Confidence" (and a breakfast date with pillows)
Host: Lyss (@Lysss302) with cohosts Jed (@jed_131) and Superhighgasfees (@SHGFees) · Thu, 24 Sep 2026 · 1:46:16 · ~10 active speakers
TL;DR
- No topic was planned — the room named it afterward. Super's story about eating breakfast with his LT3 pillows in a restaurant turned the whole hour into a conversation about conviction, confidence, and not caring who's staring [12:25].
- Lyss laid out the Re: schedule and ambitions: Re:Envisioning daily around noon, Rebuilding Together at 3pm EST, both closing in on a year, plus the Regens' two-year anniversary this coming Monday [2:59].
- Super described a visible shift in himself — from "I don't want to sell it" to being ready to pitch LT3 on demand — crediting a space where Jed made him do the spiel twice [57:00], [1:23:11].
- Jed opened up about being in a creative block and, later, about the dinner at Noble where an hour with Adam convinced him he belonged at the head of the table [10:51], [1:27:06].
- Burningbush closed the space with Regen Noir chapter 6.5, in which Super is abducted by a UFO bearing the license plate TIM and a Bored Ape bumper sticker [1:32:26]. Episode one of the video version was promised within 24 hours [1:41:44].
- Running gag of the day: nobody says "dining establishment."
Highlights
[2:59] Lyss sets the cadence. An earlier "part one" space had already happened, which Jed declined to count. Lyss explained the plan: more Re: spaces scattered across the timeline, DMs open for anyone who wants to host, shoutouts to LT3's own near-100-episode run, and reminders that it doesn't matter what PFP you hold — showing up is the entry fee.
[12:25] Super and the pillows. Super walked into a restaurant, set his LT3 pillows in the chairs, arranged food in front of them, and filmed it while everyone watched. His read: the stares are a signal you're on the right track, "because if you want to be great you have to do things that are not normal." Jed's only follow-up question was whether he sat down and ate with them. He did.
[15:33] "Nobody says a dining establishment." Burningbush's genuine point — that the moment was a chance to actually talk to the people staring, hand a pillow to a kid, make a first impression — got somewhat derailed by the phrasing, and "dining establishment" and "lavatory" became the room's running bit for the next twenty minutes. Super, unbothered: "I ignored those people, and I just had my tea party" [16:04].
[24:33] Sho drops bars without meaning to. Sho complained about "that rap crap" this early in the morning, Bored Osaka pointed out she had just rhymed, and the ensuing attempt to explain what "dropping bars" means produced another accidental couplet. Yot christened her "Show Ye West" [26:45]. Sho's position on being a rapper: "Oh, hell to the no on that one."
[32:48] Lending money, two philosophies. Bored Osaka offered the generous version — if you loan a friend money, expect nothing back, "give without the expectation of a receipt," and believe people the first time they show you who they are. Lyss mostly agreed but held onto the A Bronx Tale $20 principle, then just played the clip into the space so Super could hear Sonny explain that twenty dollars is a bargain price for getting someone out of your life [34:39].
[42:43] The video flopped, and that's fine. Super's pillow content didn't perform. His reaction: go do it again, and again, until it works. He later reframed it more broadly — a miss isn't a failure, it's "one extra idea out of the way" on the route to the one that hits [52:54]. Lyss ran with it into her first-place/first-loser framing and a push for a winner's mindset [55:05].
[51:23] Jed on founders and community input. Feedback: always. Letting the community make your decisions for you: "a death sentence." He cited Zagabond as someone he doesn't always align with but respects for holding a vision regardless of the noise, then noted he could feel Chicken Wizard's eye on him the second he said Azuki.
[57:00] Super explains where the new energy came from. A friend told him that refusing to sell isn't a virtue when someone actually asks you to pitch. That, plus watching Lyss and Jed shill the Regens on the spot in one of Burningbush's spaces, plus a night of selling macarons during a mint, added up to a click. Sho pinpointed the exact moment it happened for him during that mint [1:03:01].
[1:08:48] Chicken Wizard on conviction as a supply-side thing. X had been demoting him to listener all hour ("spaces is definitely not a priority"), and he'd swapped his Fugs for a macaroon he traded for — which X then wouldn't let him verify. His actual point: conviction is easy when you pick people with a track record, and he's currently hand-drawing reference sheets to feed into AI so he can build higher-quality generative character art to support LT3, Regens, Fugs, Macarons and the rest.
[1:27:06] Jed at the head of the table. Jed shared the Noble dinner story — 25 people, Adam at the far end, Lyss refusing to walk over with him. He went alone, talked for an hour, looked back at the table and concluded he knew more and had better intentions than most of the room. Lyss's addendum [1:28:40]: sometimes being a real friend means pushing someone into the room and then staying out of it.
[1:32:26] Regen Noir 6.5, "The Wrong Kind of Traffic." Burningbush delivered the serialized noir: Dan Greenberg introduces himself to the steakhouse with "I give a shit," two Dans complicate matters, traffic cam footage reveals a hovering metallic object with a license plate reading T-I-M and a Bored Ape bumper sticker. Meanwhile Super wakes up in a metal room in orbit and gets asked for a room reset. Jed was audibly delighted; Burningbush confirmed the video version of chapter one lands within a day [1:41:44], and then suggested Tim had been siphoning Super's energy to power the ship, which would explain the last few days [1:44:50].

Who said what
- Lyss (@Lysss302) — Host. Ran the room, handled the schedule and shoutouts, pushed the friendship/accountability thread hard, played the Bronx Tale clip as a teaching aid, and named the episode "Conviction and Confidence" in her closing.
- Jed (@jed_131) — Cohost and DJ. Opened honest about a creative block and where the Regens go next; later argued for holding your vision against community pressure and shared the Noble dinner turning point.
- Superhighgasfees (@SHGFees) — The center of gravity today. Pillow content, the flopped video, and a candid account of learning to sell LT3. Multiple people noted the energy shift out loud.
- Burningbush (@BurningBush_eth — "Lee" aloud)* — Phoned in from the golf course with a pile of "re-" words, made the point that energy isn't the same as passion [1:01:53], and closed the space with Regen Noir 6.5.
- Sho (@AgogoKaren) — Comic ballast. Refused to be a rapper, relayed Yot's hand-raise when X hid it, and identified the macaron mint as Super's turning point.
- Bored Osaka (@BoredOsaka1) — The elder-statesman voice: cats, breathwork, taking yourself on dates, and letting people go to the universe with love and kindness.
- Yot (@yotdog69) — Fugs founder, calling in at an uncivilized hour. Nine days off in two years, and the two meetings since his break were the most productive yet.
- Chicken Wizard (@ChickenWizardX) — Fought X's UI all hour, then made the case that conviction is about who you choose to back, and previewed his AI character-sheet workflow for supporting projects with content.
Worth a full listen
- [12:25]–[17:30] — Super's pillow story and the room's reaction in real time. The sincerity and the "dining establishment" heckling are load-bearing for each other; a summary flattens both.
- [34:39]–[36:38] — Lyss narrating the Bronx Tale $20 scene over the clip, live, with periodic asides to Super. Genuinely funny and the through-line of the friendship conversation.
- [1:32:26]–[1:41:28] — Regen Noir chapter 6.5, uncut. Nine minutes of straight-faced serialized lore with a UFO license plate, two Dans, and a running "can I get a room reset" gag. No recap does this justice.
