Re:Envisioning Web3 #336 | Sunday Funday • Re:Set & Re:Charge
Host: Lyss (@Lysss302) with cohost Jed (@jed_131) · Sunday, September 20, 2026 · 1:28:22 · ~11 speakers
TL;DR
- Sunday chill format, moved earlier for football season: no topic, no pressure, pass the mic around and reset for the week [15:23 ff.].
- Jed opened with a Burning Bush–style dramatic retelling of staying up until ~6:30 a.m. pushing a stalled mint over the line for a project he has no stake in — and declared "the Jed effect" officially in progress [7:05].
- UNCLE CORVUS dropped the most actionable marketing tips of the day: Instagram's local-radius post promotion (learned running a nitro cold brew tricycle around Sydney) and Gary V's $1.80 comment strategy, which Jed immediately doubled into the "$3.60 Jed challenge" [29:14], [30:36], [33:18].
- zGhostin walked through Otherside deed strategy — proximity to the clubhouse, rare resources, artifacts — while Jed floated buying ApeCoin and paying vested Twitch streamers to play [56:29], [58:48].
- Infinix told the full story behind his game: God of War on a PS2 with his dad in 2005, losing his father that same year, 12 years on ships to retire his mother, and the itch he can't sleep on [1:01:38]–[1:14:50].
- UNCLE CORVUS raised child safety in games (Roblox especially) and asked devs for ideas; Lee followed with a practical parental-controls PSA [1:19:03], [1:22:27].
Highlights
[7:05] Jed sets the scene. Inspired by Lee's Regen Noir storytelling, Jed narrated the previous day's mint rescue like a noir cold open — the mint stalled at 640, the phone call came, and he minted it out before bed. His verdict on the founder's decision to cut the supply: they'd have sold all 2,000. Floor's up, people are fumbling, and the Jed effect has begun.
[14:00] The new Jed, same vocabulary. Jed announced he's changing his space personality and putting the pedal down, then apologized to Lyss for the curse words. Lyss proposed a football drinking game — a shot every time Unc says the F bomb — before immediately walking it back on medical grounds [14:33].
[19:21] Super's phone is cooked. Superhighgasfees joined from a backup device after falling asleep in Burning Bush's space, reporting an hour on the charger with nothing to show for it. Everyone agreed the backup sounds dramatically better. His actual takeaway from the week: he's rebuilding his social media attention strategy around what Lee taught him.
[28:04] Uncle Corvus wakes up to a crossfire. Corvus described waking up, wandering around in his underwear, and finding a reply in his chat meant for someone else's chat, with everyone confused and Jed nowhere to be found. No harm done — he'd left a comic-strip prompt in the Regen chat for people to play with, and had the group chasing a kangaroo. "We're gonna need to use the grill."
[29:14] The Instagram tip nobody was expecting. From his nitro cold brew days pedaling a 187-kilo bike around Sydney, Corvus explained how Instagram's post settings let you push a post to everyone active within a one-to-three-kilometer radius, invite them directly, and have a line waiting before you've even set up. He paired it with Gary V's $1.80 technique — ten thoughtful comments on the top posts in your niche — and Jed doubled the price on the spot [33:18]. Lyss noted it was literally her day one running the Instagram.
[41:27] Why does X update every other day? Jed asked the devs in the room. Dan explained hot fixes and patches that never surface in the UI, and the tradeoff between slow, deliberate releases and AI-accelerated shipping that increases volatility. Infinix added his read on the algorithm's inconsistency and regional rollouts, plus the observation that the dev headcount reportedly shrank years ago — so something is filling the gap [43:51].
[48:58] Slick's Sunday. Heading to the Niners home opener, SLICK RIC explained he goes with his 70-year-old father-in-law — best friend, the man who taught him about life, business, and being a man — and that if he doesn't go, the old man doesn't go. Earlier he also offered Jed a semi-apology for telling him to slap himself over the macaroon call, which was up 250% by morning [47:52].
[56:29] Otherside real estate 101. zGhostin explained that only about a hundred-something deeds border the clubhouse, that he'd traced which deed Adam owns through his wallets, and that buyers should be looking at rare resources and artifacts ahead of the resource game and in-game currency. Jed's summary of where it's headed: literal digital landlords charging rent [57:38]. He also pitched buying cheap ApeCoin and offering top streamers vested deals to play — Ghostin agreed with the idea but said there isn't enough content in there yet to justify it today [1:00:35].
[1:01:38] Infinix's why. The longest and quietest stretch of the space. Infinix argued Web3 games keep building the financial layer before the gameplay and cited Axie as the cautionary tale, then told his own story: playing God of War with his father on a PS2 in 2005, his father wondering aloud what their favorite story would look like as a game, losing him that same year, working ships in 60-degree heat and minus-20 cold across 37 countries, and promising himself he'd retire his mother in ten years. It took twelve. Now he's building the game. Jed said he'd bet his house on him and offered whatever help he can give [1:14:50].
[1:19:03] Corvus on the kids. After encouraging Infinix with the story of an Indian colleague in Sydney who spent three years working seven days a week to bring his parents over and open a motorbike shop with his father, Corvus turned serious: predators and syndicates operating inside games, his daughter walking into a Roblox room she shouldn't have, and an open ask to devs for anything on the tech side. Lee followed with the practical version — check the parental settings, check the chat permissions, check the search history, and don't feel like a bad parent for it [1:22:27]. Jed then reported the results of auditing his own daughters' search history, which was less about predators and more about extraction.

Who said what
- Lyss (@Lysss302) — host. Set the no-pressure Sunday framing, ran the rescreen, plugged the recap emails and the who's-behind-the-PFP template, and closed with the standing reminder to revoke wallet access after hearing Souls got hacked.
- Jed (@jed_131) — cohost, main engine. Music, the mint-rescue story, the $3.60 challenge, the ApeCoin-for-streamers pitch, and an open offer of help to Infinix.
- UNCLE CORVUS (@unclecorvus) — the day's most quotable and most practical voice: Instagram radius targeting, the $1.80 technique, and a serious ask about protecting kids in games.
- Infinix (@OverlordInfinix) — dev building his own game; argued gameplay must precede tokenomics, and told the personal story behind his project.
- zGhostin (@zGhostin) — Otherside deed strategist, buyback poster, and the reason Jed says he's finally hyped for the other side.
- Dan (@brokenrealitydh) — dev; explained hot fixes, release cadence philosophies, and why AI-fast shipping cuts both ways. Also builds the recaps/website.
- SLICK RIC (@richj530) — heading to the Niners home opener with his father-in-law; offered to take Jed up on a bottle-of-tequila roast livestream.
- Burningbush (@BurningBush_eth) — called in from church, praised Jed's storytelling upgrade, and delivered the parental-controls PSA. Regen Noir at 9:30.
- Superhighgasfees (@SHGFees) — reported a productive week and a dying phone; credited Lee for reshaping his attention strategy.
- ANTI (@AntiOnChain) — flagged the constant forced X updates that kicked off the dev conversation, and mourned his fantasy week courtesy of Lyss's quarterback.
- Donny Ðoge (@DogeDonny2013) — laundry, football, and one mint (two, Jed corrected, with the free one).
Worth a full listen
- [1:01:38]–[1:15:59] — Infinix's full arc, from his critique of Web3 game design through the PS2, the ships, and the promise he kept twelve years later. No summary does the pacing justice, and Jed's response at [1:14:50] is the emotional peak of the space.
- [29:14]–[34:20] — Uncle Corvus's Instagram and TikTok playbook, delivered at full Sydney velocity with a 187-kilo coffee bike attached. Genuinely useful if you run anything IRL.
- [1:17:13]–[1:24:34] — The tonal swing from Corvus's encouragement story, to the hard conversation about kids in games, to Lee's practical checklist, to Jed's daughters' search history. It lands better in sequence than in bullets.
