Re:Envisioning Web3 #338 | Tuesday Roundtable: What's On Your Mind?
Host: Lyss (@Lysss302) with co-hosts Jed (@jed_131) and Burningbush (@BurningBush_eth) · Tue, Sep 22 2026 · 1:42:52 · ~16 speakers on stage
TL;DR
- Open-topic Tuesday: Lyss set the format at [12:08] — "what's on your mind," web3 or personal — and the room took that invitation extremely literally.
- Ed Balloon.eth announced his stop-motion project A Song About Black Love is minting, and made the case for artists holding the line in web3 [18:10].
- Celeste delivered the line of the day on building in public: "it will always be cringe until it works" [35:09].
- A genuinely heavy stretch in the middle — a regular shared that he's in a hard personal season, and Jed, Yot and Donny Ðoge all came back with "same, and here's my number" [40:34]–[52:34].
- Lyss confirmed a Regen book club is actually happening (Cortez's book first, Bordeaux Saka co-piloting) [1:02:52]; Ash immediately negotiated a smut wing [1:05:21].
- Announcements in the closing recap [1:35:17]: Ghostin swept 13 Regens, De Stefanos is being built in the Otherside via a deed gifted by Adam Weissman, and Lyss closed on gratitude — "September isn't over yet."
Highlights
[12:08] Lyss opens #338 and sets the table. No theme, no guest, just: what's occupying you today — a project, a feeling, a thing you can't stop thinking about. She flagged upfront that her own answer would be gratitude, then handed off to co-hosts.
[14:00] Jed on the intern gifting wave. Over the previous few days people had been giving away ~$500–600 assets to onboard strangers — uncoordinated, he stressed, not a PR push. He counted 25 himself and reckoned the real number was well past a hundred. His takeaway, delivered as the whole web3 thesis in a sentence: "don't be greedy, share, and we'll all do good and everybody eats."
[18:10] Ed Balloon.eth on minting day and marginalized artists. He walked through A Song About Black Love — digital art cards that unlock a stop-motion short he directed — then widened out into why he's still here in year five: artists trying to disrupt a system that wasn't built for them, and doing it without a map. "In Web3, we are by default leaders, because we have to do certain things that people don't want to do." Jed followed with a nod to one-of-one artists getting lost as financial layers crowd the space.
[25:26] Superhighgasfees, researcher. Soup's answer to "what's on your mind" was the OnlyFans creator houses dominating the internet — "I'm subscribed to all of them for research purposes." The room did not let this go. Then Jed revealed that he'd woken up to a call from his bank: his card was skimmed and the thief's first move was three OnlyFans charges [27:16]. Burningbush, incredulous: with a stranger's card and a fresh house-sale balance sitting there, you go buy porn that's free anyway [27:57]. Yot's attempt to steer things back — "let's get a mansion, rent it out, make some content. Legit content, web three content" — only confirmed everyone's minds were, in his words, in the gutter [32:11].
[35:09] Celeste: "it will always be cringe until it works." Repping a Gecko PFP for their anniversary, she gave the most quoted stretch of the space: building means being okay looking stupid while the vision lives only in your head, nobody applauding, all the work behind the curtain — and then one day the same people say "damn, that actually worked." Her close: everyone is jealous of the destination, nobody is jealous of the journey [37:16]. Lyss agreed hard and extended it into doing the work for yourself first.
[42:21] The room gets real. A longtime regular came up and, instead of a market take, said out loud that things are falling apart at home right now and he's stressed to the bone. Jed's response was immediate — he's in a version of the same thing, call me today, the beginning is the worst part. Yot added his own past two years, including a stretch near homelessness, and a dog fighting cancer [47:23]. Donny Ðoge followed with his own rough four Decembers and an open-DM offer to anyone listening [49:15], which turned into a small reunion: Donny had gifted him the LT3 that got him in the door [50:21].
[53:04] Chosen family, and a reveal by accident. Donny's "I want this space to be so unbreakable my kids feel safe doing what we're doing" gave way to a height-based roast of Jed ("just above a midget"; Lyss reported at 7'11"), then Ash saying what several people were feeling: put me back in with my internet friends, that's where home is [53:32]. Jed ran with it — the daily hours in here build bonds most IRL relationships don't get — and then trailed into "I got to meet Lyss, and we know where that went." Ash, instantly: "where did that go?" [55:43]. He confirmed it, Ship_Keeper circled back to double-check twenty minutes later, and Ash claimed she'd called it long before.
[57:31] Chicken Wizard reverse-engineers Jed's voice. Preparing for a Jed impersonation contest, he revealed he'd cracked the technique the night before: eat a yogurt, drink water immediately after, and the raspy bottom end arrives. Burningbush countered with a Jed soundbite about Brooklyn tap water making his skin healthier and his muscles stronger.
[1:02:52] The book club is real. Lyss has been building it for two months: Cortez's book first, a Gary Vee title in the queue, member submissions, and Bordeaux Saka involved. She pitched Chicken Wizard on the stonk broker/intern community in the same breath — group chat full of people offering video walkthroughs, no gatekeeping. Ash then asked, with total sincerity, whether smut counts [1:05:21], and Burningbush ruled that Sho's smut corner meets on a different day. Sho, who had been quietly on mute, resurfaced to inform everyone she was on the toilet [1:06:56].
[1:08:34] Ship_Keeper on not chasing, Jed on the financial layer. Ship's honest position: he doesn't own a stonk broker because they're ugly, and more to the point, he's done chasing things he didn't catch early. Jed argued the newer "evolution" NFTs earn their hold via passive income and distribution, and the conversation landed somewhere genuinely nerdy and good — Yot on how Quirkies handled commercial rights at the character level, so every future variation falls under the holder's rights with no second token and no dilution [1:14:57]. Jed's rueful footnote: it's thoughtful, collectors love it, and it does almost nothing for the floor, because not enough people here value the art.
[1:18:49] Jed's founder advice to Infinix. Get on spaces, get uncomfortable, and then never talk about your project — talk about yourself, and people will find the build. He admitted he went four years without doing a space because he hated it. Infinix took it on the chin, then told a run of stories: an Unreal Engine attack animation that's mysteriously making his character go bald [1:20:58], two cadets buried in six plates of American diner fries [1:22:28], and his first sashimi in Japan, eaten in a silent exchange of bows and immediately regretted once someone explained what sashimi is [1:25:58].

Who said what
- Lyss (@Lysss302) — host. Set the open-topic format, ran the panel, announced the Regen book club, and closed with a long gratitude segment about not letting good things become normal.
- Jed (@jed_131) — co-host. Champion of one-of-one artists and gifting culture, bank-fraud victim of the day, and the space's designated short guy; gave Infinix a genuinely useful playbook on founders showing up in spaces.
- Burningbush (@BurningBush_eth) — co-host. Regen Noir lore and movie updates, the "classic Burning Bush reset" when the room derailed, and most of the day's incredulity at Soup.
- Ed Balloon.eth (@Ed_Balloon) — minting A Song About Black Love; spoke on artists as default leaders in web3 and the cost of that.
- Celeste (@CelesteWAO) — brought the reflective centerpiece on building unseen; also repping Gecko's fifth anniversary on three hours of sleep.
- Superhighgasfees (@SHGFees) — opened with the creator-economy "research" bit, sustained a low-battery running gag, got mid-tier heckling from all directions.
- Yot (@yotdog69) — Art Basel plans, the ever-lengthening vacation joke, and a clear breakdown of character-level commercial rights without token dilution.
- Donny Ðoge (@DogeDonny2013) — the onboarder: gifts NFTs to people he likes, open DMs, wants the space unbreakable enough for his kids.
- Ship_Keeper (@Ship_Keeper) — candid skeptic on chasing late, unexpectedly enthusiastic about the quirk kid toggle on OpenSea.
- Chicken Wizard (@ChickenWizardX) — weighing an intern vs. an idle Neo Tokyo; inventor of the yogurt-and-water Jed voice.
- Ash (@princessashleiv) — the emotional gut-punch and the smut-corner negotiation, roughly four minutes apart.
- Sho (@AgogoKaren) — grateful for a trade she absolutely did not shake anyone down for, and the source of the day's most committed heckling from the bathroom.
- Infinix (@OverlordInfinix) — Unreal Engine bug report, then three excellent stories from his shipping days once Jed told him to keep going.
- SLICK RIC (@richj530) — brief and on-message: Regenerates, seven days a week, 365.
- DARKM N (@Bryan36krun) — came through crystal clear for once; works 9–2 and 5–1:30 and joins when he can.
- chazzgold.eth (@chazz_gold) — artist; his physical cards reached Jed, and he's plotting 3D-plus-stone-carving collabs after a move to New York.
Worth a full listen
- [40:34]–[52:34] — The heart of the space. What starts as one person saying life is hard right now turns into Jed, Yot and Donny each answering with their own version, plus an unplanned reunion between a gifter and the person he onboarded. Summaries flatten this; the tone is the point.
- [53:04]–[58:47] — A five-minute run that goes height roast → "put me back in with my internet friends" → an accidental relationship confirmation → competitive Jed impersonation methodology. The room's whole personality in one stretch.
- [1:21:01]–[1:27:19] — Infinix, coaxed into rambling, delivering the bald-character bug, six plates of fries versus one terrifying senior, and a sashimi revelation with consequences. Uninterrupted and much funnier told than described.
