Re:Envisioning Web3 #337 | Motivational Monday
Hosted by Lyss (@Lysss302) with Jed (@jed_131) · Mon, Sep 21 2026 · 1:15:34 · ~11 active speakers
TL;DR
- Jed opened with a full soundboard wake-up call and a 15-second discipline clip; Motivational Monday started at volume [5:27].
- Mystery solved: Superhighgasfees (@SHGFees) hadn't vanished — his charging cable died and every repair shop was closed on a Sunday. Standing order from Jed: next time, send word by carrier pigeon [10:49].
- Randy Chavez (@RealRandyChavez) gave the room a masterclass in graded cards — the PSA 9 vs 10 arbitrage, why grading is subjective, AI graders coming up — and the trophy Kangaskhan he sold for 279k that just went for $2.25M [25:15].
- Jed and Lyss celebrated the Stonk Brokers "intern" activation less for the mechanics than for the timeline behavior: hundreds of people gifting away $500+ NFTs to grow the network [42:48].
- MainNetThanos.eth (@Maximill15) came up to clear the air about selling into an Argonauts grail; Jed's counter-take was that the price action isn't about the art at all [52:07].
- McFly (@MrMcFly100) checked back in post-birthday with a gratitude speech, Jed promised him an ape, and the space closed on birthday shoutouts, Regen Noir casting notes, and a debate over whether 5'11" counts as normal male height [1:11:18].
Highlights
[5:27] Monday, cranked to eleven. Jed opened with back-to-back tracks, declared Monday his Saturday, and handed off with "that should have woke everybody the fuck up." Lyss took it from there on brand: max engage, tag a new friend, grab a mic — Motivational Monday isn't the hosts lecturing you about your motivation.
[8:56] Sho on the soul cycle bike. Somewhere in the Forever Young singalong, Jed decided Sho (@AgogoKaren) was jamming out mid-workout, Burningbush (@BurningBush_eth) upgraded it to "she's just pelotoning it away," and Lyss later issued the ruling that this is a soul cycle house — the P-word gets a one-time pass [19:17].
[10:49] The great phone outage. Super's disappearance got the full investigation treatment — Jed had assumed jail, and admitted the group had agreed not to joke until someone heard from him. The actual answer: a broken charging cable, a Sunday of closed repair shops, and an emergency family Android with terrible battery but, everyone agreed, dramatically better audio. Lyss noted the APB was nearly out and offered to send him the hosts' emails as a backup channel [14:31].
[20:27] The co-host constitutional crisis. Sho scheduled a macaron reveal opposite Burningbush's nightly Burning Bush space, which led to her asking whether she'd ever officially been made co-host, Jed comparing it to asking someone to be your girlfriend, and Burningbush announcing he'd be accepting auditions and resumes — requirement: must be able to stay up past 10:30. When Sho's voice started to quiver defending the reveal timing, Jed called a truce and promised to zing her later.
[25:15] Randy's Pokémon arc. After two organ failures in 2018, Randy set out to finish a childhood dream of first-edition PSA 10s — then discovered the real trade was in the spread between 9s and 10s, and rode $1,200-stimulus-check mania into a very profitable exit. The punchline: the trophy Kangaskhan he bought for $80k and sold for 279k in 2021 resold for $2.25M two days before the space. Hence, he said, he's a hodler now. Jed and Burningbush pulled the thread into grading subjectivity, slab repairs, TAG, and Burningbush's beef-grading analogy [31:33].
[36:34] Super calls Dan monotone; the room produces the receipts. Super, marveling at his clearer audio, suggested Dan (@brokenrealitydh) might be the Fameless of Regens. Jed defended Dan as a low, mild-mannered talker, Dan offered his resting heart rate as evidence, and Lyss closed the case by reminding Super he'd put the room through roughly a hundred episodes of clicking, whispering and chopped-up music [41:02]. Super: "I have no room to talk."
[42:48] Why the intern giveaway mattered. Jed's main point of the day: not the Stonk Brokers project itself but the timeline around it — people handing out 0.25 ETH-plus interns by the hundred purely to grow distribution. He tied it back to an early Regens activation he ran partly as a character test, where people traded spare pieces for free instead of squeezing each other. Lyss described being gifted one by Tusk unprompted, and walked through the Laura bot job board where holders can post paid tasks; Dan added that watching people publicly "apply" for internships was its own social layer [48:47].
[52:07] Thanos clears the air. Thanos volunteered that he'd sold across the board — Doodles, GDCs, and some Regens — to fund an Argonauts grail, and apologized for the floor impact. Jed waved it off, then pressed on the thesis: Thanos credited ACK's art and community energy, while Jed's gut says an unannounced financial layer is what's actually driving the price, drawing on a long call with Adam and his Stonk Brokers position.
[1:03:55] McFly's payment-enough speech. Jed offered him an ape for his birthday and everything he does for the Regens and the steakhouse crew; McFly declined the framing entirely, saying he never shows up expecting anything back, that accessible founders who actually show up on spaces daily are rare, and that the community has been "a real battery in my back." Lyss corrected the "you guys" — space #337 belongs to everyone in the room.
[1:11:18] Birthdays, height fraud, and a tagline. Thanos snuck a "go Bills" into his happy-birthday-to-Jed (it was not Jed's birthday), McFly apologized for missing it anyway, and Burningbush explained his Regen Noir character-design policy: you can't FUD the founder by drawing him 5'4", so everyone gets at least 5'11" — a figure both Jed and McFly rejected as suspiciously generous. BeeCuzFuture (@BeeCuzFuture) then arrived en route to the welding store and delivered the line he no longer has to be prompted for [1:13:23].

Who said what
- Jed (@jed_131) — co-host, DJ, and chief ball-buster; ran the wake-up soundboard, led the Super welfare check, and argued the intern activation's real value was the generosity on the timeline, not the mechanics.
- Lyss (@Lysss302) — host; kept the room moving, pushed the brand-building thread (Super's skate footage, Sho's baking), explained the Anvil/Laura job board, and closed with the community-as-home-base note.
- Superhighgasfees (@SHGFees) — the man of the mystery; explained the dead cable, took the roasting in good humor, and got voted onto his better-sounding backup phone permanently.
- Sho (@AgogoKaren) — defended the macaron reveal slot, questioned her own co-host paperwork, and lobbied hardest for Super to keep the new phone.
- Burningbush (@BurningBush_eth) — Regen Noir author and daily 9:30 EST host; opened co-host auditions, handled grading analogies via beef grades, and revealed the 5'11" character-design policy.
- Randy Chavez (@RealRandyChavez) — first-time guest with the day's best deep dive: PSA population reports, scarcity, slab repairs, and a $2.25M card he no longer owns.
- Dan (@brokenrealitydh) — builder and collector; got his first slab this year (a Marvel PSA 9), praised the intern "job application" social layer, and gave the Honey-needs-a-hoodie update.
- MainNetThanos.eth (@Maximill15) — cleared the air on selling into an Argonauts grail, called himself a pixel junkie, and named Regens his best trade.
- McFly (@MrMcFly100) — post-birthday check-in, Reebucks stacking, and the day's most-felt speech on accessible founders and IRL networking.
- Wizard1sgv (@wizard1sgv) — dialed in from the car between job runs; seven-day weeks, a gutted kitchen, and building on Unvault alongside the Regens.
- BeeCuzFuture (@BeeCuzFuture) — arrived late, headed to the welding store, delivered the tagline, and graciously credited Burningbush for beating him to it.
- Big Rugg (@ChiefNeckbone_) — short drive-by before a call: market looks beautiful, Regens look great, and the spaces are actually talking about real stuff.
Worth a full listen
- [9:46]–[14:31] — The phone saga in full: genuine concern turning into a roast, the carrier-pigeon directive, and the group discovering Super's emergency phone has better audio than his main one.
- [25:15]–[33:19] — Randy's grading deep dive is the most information-dense stretch of the space; the 9-vs-10 spread logic, why Chansey and Hitmonchan are hard to grade, and where AI grading sits today.
- [1:11:18]–[1:14:03] — The closing run: a happy birthday for a birthday that wasn't, the 5'11" Easter egg defense, and BeeCuz's tagline landing right as Burningbush beat him to his own line on the soundboard.
